So, Man City on Sunday. Hmm, I think we do tend to try and get going on the bigger games so we could have a decent chance but then City have been playing well recently, despite being nowhere near United this year. I guess their motivation might be questioned (fairly comfortable in 2nd) but a bit clutching at straws.
Any injuries left over from the Basel game?
Bale back? Please?!

just hoping Everton get something tonight before I even think about that game, I really can't see us doing it (ie winning nearly all our remaining games) unless the others slip up, formbook is favouring them over us though.

Form is temporary as they say, hopefully this is the end of our poor spell and the beginning of theirs! A win for Everton would bring 3rd-6th within a point of each other.

I look at Chelsea as having harder games than us! Think we could just sneak in front of them.
We just have to do the best we can and hope it will be good enough. Even if they lose tonight I think Arsenal will get more points than us from their remaining games.
Chelsea on the other hand have some very tough fixtures so could easily drop quite a lot of points.
Hopefully Bale will be back to provide that much needed spark and goal threat. Even if he is not I think City will be thinking about the cup final now.

Yeah, all the talk has been about whether Arsenal would pip us to a Champions League spot but I really think it is Chelsea who are most at risk. Obviously points tonight for Everton would be a bonus but I reckon Arsenal will finish third, there's a resilience about them at the moment, that I don't think is just going to disintegrate. That said, there run of 5 straight wins coincides with Szczesny being dropped & he's back in the side this evening, so fingers crossed.
As for our game on Sunday, so long as at least one of Bale or Lennon are back, I'd be more confident of putting in a performance against Man City at home, than I probably would if the opponents were QPR or similar.... so the last day of the season game against Sunderland at WHL might not go to plan then!

Mathematically back in our hands again! Watching City in the FA Cup, they looked on top form so that'll be a tough mountain to climb. Hopefully this'll put the jitters up Arsenal too though.

Re: The Tottenham Hotspur Thread 2012/2013
Unfortunately Kaboul has an injury set back so looks like we probably won't have him for the run in. Nice bonus tonight but certainly can't rely on other teams to do a job for us for the rest of the season. It would be great to beat Chelsea to the post after last season!

More paper talk about Hamburg's Heung-Min Son? I do watch the Bundesliga highlights on ITV4 (tune in, btw, it's great!) and he does look pretty good but I can't say I've seen much more than clips. I think he plays further forward than midfield - second striker type thing.
Does score some sexy goals though.
Gomes (remember him?!) back to PSV? He's broken a finger playing for Hoffenheim so it now out for the rest of the season. Assume we just need him off the wage bill so anywhere is fine!
Annoying rumours (well, via Spurs Show podcast) of Benny moving on and AVB wanting a new LB.
Also, clubs sniffing around Townsend - Swansea now. Assume he's done enough to get a few appearances next season when Lennon's out/rested but whether he's happy with that is another matter.

I can't see BAE staying, it's clear that AVB doesn't trust him so he's off IMO. There were strong rumours of a swap deal with Perreira back in January so I wouldn't be surprised to see that.
We will probably end up with Remy and be strung along with Damiao again - Groundhog Day.

Not to sure if to be Captain Defeatist today and think on current form it will be an away win or maybe we will raise our game today and sneak a home win and reverse the slide out of 3rd/4th place

We have to win or its over. TBH I cant see us winning all our games anyway so it may be over before we even get down to the last couple of games. We just havent had the firepower when we needed it and we rely too much on Bale. Today will be tough. We can win and if we do hopefully we can go on a run. Not massively hopeful though.

Missed the 1st half but going by the 2nd half so far Midfield is too slow lacking width and Dempsey has been poor again and Adebayor seems worse than useless as per, Also I don't think Spurs have created a goal scoring chance with 20 odd mins gone in the 2nd

Great Goal! Why has he not been playing from the start?
