Season Five has already been confirmed. I’m almost halfway through S4 & it’s been very good so far. Looks beautiful in 4K + HDR & a wise decision to show the New Terra scenes in full widescreen. Also feels like the acting has improved with the main leads. That was always my main gripe...
S4's a good piece of television and head and shoulders above the standard streaming fodder, oddly it peaks a bit early though and the last couple of episodes aren't as strong as the earlier ones.
I’ve never watched this. Would fans of f this recommend I watch from the beginning? What would you liken it to? I’m more Star Wars than Star Trek. Is it a slow burner or do you get into it from the start? Thanks.

Can't think of any show I'd not recommend watching from the beginning?
Definitely a slow burner. The first series has a very future noir feel to it, which I loved, but seemed to put a lot of people off. The epic scope of the show opens up slowly and seems all the more rewarding for it. It's not really an "action packed" type of thing but you get some space battles...eventually.
Curious to know what people thought of season 4? I found it kind of dull and minimalistic after what came before.

This isn't an episode-of-the-week style space sci-fi like Star Trek, heck Star Trek isn't really like that anymore, so you will need to start at the beginning. Think of it as like Babylon 5, doesn't really get going until the latter half of the first season, but once it does it's absolutely brilliant and leagues ahead of any other sci-fi show going right now.
Enjoying the new season so much more than the last "stuck in a cave whilst a parasite eats our eyes" season. Proper interwoven stories with a decent balance between them all..the Alex/Bobby and Amos segments being more riveting than the Holden & Naomi parts.
One episode a week is a bit frustrating, especially after the S05E05 cliffhanger. Was happy enough watching one per week of The Boys, but really just want to binge these!

That format's disappeared in the last couple of episodes though, last week followed Amos and Peaches on earth which, I think for dialogue and performances, I found riveting.
This week's however was set aboard HMS Melodrama and focused on Naomi's tiresome son and ex. I struggle to see how Marco has united the Belt though, he has as much charisma as there is oxygen in deep space.
Yes a definite drop in quality the last 2 episodes but at least now
Naomi has escaped from her annoying son and Marco
.
For me this show is always at it's best when Amos and Chrisjen Avasarala feature prominently - we haven't had enough Alex too. It's a shame there's been no Anderson Dawes for a couple of seasons - I guess Jared Harris has been busy elsewhere.
