Raging Bull on Blu-Ray

Can hardly get over how good this black and white movie looks on the new Blu-ray release, the grainy gritty streets and boxing ring scenes like poetry on film, the mid-70s to the early-80s were a truly great a period for movies, with Taxi Driver, Deer Hunter, Apocalypse Now, Heaven's Gate, Raging Bull and Blade Runner.

I've always imagined it would benefit brilliantly from HD, will have to pick it up at some point.

But yes, it looks fantastic, although I would say that; it's my favourite film.

Yes and yes. There are quite a few Raging Bull movie posters shown at the end of the special features trilogy which would have been far better, but Blu-Ray covers have never been up to much. I love this black and white movie although my favourite sequence is the home movie scenes shot (sort of) in colour. Fantastic sound effects as well, it's the only film I watch all the way to the end for its soundtrack.

Why are BD covers so crap? I'm getting this, no doubt, but the cover is awful. Is it to differentiate between it and the SD-DVD? Like the different size box and BLUE AS **** top border isn't enough.

Since I have Goodfellas, The Departed, and Casino on Blu, I think I'll pick this up.

It's not as pronounced as moving from LP to CD (as far as cover art goes), but because of the smaller sized case, the blue "header" and sometimes those dreadful swoosh things across the bottom, the front cover artwork can't be an awful lot bigger than half the size of a DVD's.
Or maybe I'm analysing cover artwork too much

The cover of the last Raging Bull DVD was beautiful, this is awful.
