Saw them last night also, great stage show, lights p.a. etc, but I agree with what others have said about the constant chanting etc got a bit much in the end, still enjoyed it though !!!!!

It was just so constant. Audience participant is nice, but they spent so much time doing this and getting the audience to chant things out that they could have played the entire Dookie album (maybe twice) instead.
The way I saw it was that there was half an hour to forty minutes maximum of all the crowd participation stuff at the O2 on Friday, leaving at least two hours of "serious" gig. That's still more than many bands give. I've seen several gigs of less than one and a half hours in duration, so even if you don't like all that stuff you're not getting a raw deal. Personally, I thought it was great, fun entertainment, although I wouldn't want every gig I saw to be like that.

I'm really pleased for them but that is not for me. Green day were and still are one of "our" bands (if that makes sense?) but the "top spot" Snooker Hall in Huddersfield '91 or the Duchess in Leeds '93 or '94 is where I have the best memories from.
That just looks bloody awful!

I used a Canon HF10 hi def camcorder, managed to get about 70 odd minutes of footage, didn't get in anybody's way either

Also used a decent encoder to crunch it down

That was pretty much the same for the Friday London show as well. Suppor act that night was Prima Donna and I think they're doing the whole tour.

You're right - due on at 7. Couldn't remember the name. They appeared about 7:20.

Stunning last night at the MEN, much more of a show than a gig, and I echo some of the comments that the crowd participation is a little much at times, but the whole experience was amazing - great selection of old and new tracks (Welcome to Paradise - fantastic!), and the visuals were stunning.

Last nights gig was brilliant! Love how interactive they were with the crowd. So who went? Did anyone catch one of those t-shirts that were launched into the crowd..

According to eFestivals, Green Day are playing 2 Stadium shows next summer!

Lancashire County Cricket Ground, Manchester - 16th June 2010
Wembley Stadium, London - 19th June 2010

Tickets on sale on Friday, £42.50 & £49.50 for London, £39.50 for Manchester.
Expect the usual fees though.

Well I guess that's the next natural step for them but dunno about Wembley Stadium. They did play MK Bowl a few years back when touring American Idiot but it was soooooooooo much better seeing them at The O2.

I missed out on last years tour but i'm booked up the manchester show June and i've just been having a look around to see who'll be supporting. Allgigs has Joan Jett listed which doesn't particularly excite me but at least i've heard of her. Is there likely to be more acts announced?

Regards
Bryan
