Foo Fighters - Reading Festival 95, it was on their first proper tour, and they were stupidly put in the 2nd Stage tent. I've never seen such a crowd in my life. The vibe in the tent was upreal - dont think I'll even experience that ever again.
IF you were there, you know what it was like.

Other highlights

Metallica - Earls Court mid 90s sometime. Couldn't hear a damn thing for days after this gig

Blur - Forum 91

Verve - Reading Festival, 94 last gig they played with their oringinal lineup before they went supernova and started selling bucket loads of records.

Jeff Buckley - Roskilde Festival

Radiohead - Shepherds Empire 03

Ride / The Charlatans - Brighten Beach early 90s

Stone Roses - Spike Island

Björk - Forum 93, her first UK Solo tour. Had seen her with Sugarcubes, but nothing prepared me for his gig - awesome

Spiritualized - Astoria 97, its was just before the "Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space

Frank Zappa in the Festung (hilltop fortified castle) at Wurzburg, Germany in 1982
Ramones supported by the Talking Heads at the Greyhound in Croydon 1976 was excellent but I was too near speaker to make sense of anything Joey Ramone sang.

Family Cat (88ish) were one of my first

Stand outs would be The Blue Aeroplanes (88ish), Pulp(92), Blur/Pulp @ Ally Pally, The Breeders (92), The Stones (99), Velvet Revolver (04/5) and so many more!

I was in that tent! The crowd was mental, the band were ok. I don't think it was a bad decision to put them in that tent. Its easy to say so in hindsight but when they were booked to headline the second tent they hadn't released a single record!

The crowd was probably also increased by Bjork playing the main stage I know a few people that went to watch the Foos just to avoid Bjork.

Just remembered that boy that climbing up the scaffolding in the middle of the tent, the band had to stop playing til he came down [for safety reasons] and the nutter jumped into the crowd from about 30 foot up There was no way anyone under him could of moved out the way, man that must of hurt

Also remember, getting to the tent hours early [for a good view] and it taking us the whole of the EchoBelly [where are they now] set to get anywhere decent.

wow - errr......

can't put them in order at all really....

Living Colour at The Marquee in 91 or 92 (can't remember actual date) - was at the front for this one, with one of my bass playing heroes Doug Wimbish being unveiled as new bass player. That gig rocked!

Pink Floyd at Earls court in 93? - superb visuals as part of the pulse tour

U2 at Earls court in 92? or 91? - just after Achtung Baby. was two rows from the mini-stage. Could see what earrings that band were wearing!

Iona at Greenbelt way way back around 1989 or 1990 ish - just after Book of Kells CD. Amaaazing gig, sat at the front in the big tent and blown away by some of the most haunting and beautiful music I've ever seen. I'm not even that Religious (music is a bit on the christian side) but is just technically and emotionally lovely.

Tom Waits at the apollo last year. Wow.

Many many Tori Amos shows (think i've seen her 7 or 8 times) - have to say a tie between Nottingham on her tour for little earthquakes or at the albert hall 5 or 6 years ago.

Tool at Rock City in Nottingham in 1993. Oh My God - one of the best live bands ever.

Matthew Herbert Big Band - One of the best Jazz gigs i've ever been to at the Barbican earlier this month - awesome musicians playing the best big band Jazz.

The Doky Brothers at Canary Wharf - can't remeber when this was - at least 7 or 8 years ago. Astounding.

Duran Duran at Wembley Arena on three seperate occasions (the first being my first proper live gig way back in 1987) the best of the three probably being last summers three hour extravagansa on 1st July? or 31st June can't remember. Was the last night at wembley on their reunion tour. Played with so much energy and i sang myself hoarse with my sister

Tortoise at a venue i can't remember in Nottingham in probably 1994 I think. I remember they played Kamera (Camera?) at the end and it blew me away.

I'm sure there are more gigs I haven't mentioned. e.g. Primus at the astoria or RHCP at Brixton Academy. Fishbone at Rock City. Many other Jazz gigs.

That'll have to do for now

I'm sure she was if you like Bjork. I loved the Sugarcubes but have always found her solo stuff unbearable. The Foos finished in time for me to see her fireworks though

God, forgot about that, clawed our way out the tent, sat on the floor, breathed some fresh air and watched the fireworks
