A bit more tempted now the dollar to pound rate has improved a bit. But it is still very hard to justify as I have all the current CDs and the DVD already

Up for Pre-order: http://www.ainr.com/pixies/indexPixies.html

Nice that the limited edition is going to signed by the whole band. Still too rich for me though.

Looks lovely, but like The Beatles box, way over-priced. 3000 units individually signed? Someones going to have some wrist cramp

They showed Debaser and Hey (I think) on the 10pm show. I was watching it waiting for Neil Young, all we got of him was a 5 second clip

I should also point out that the show had what was without doubt the worst festival coverage I have ever endured. Utterly appalling, watch with caution (you may end up throwing things at the TV).

Got back from IoW today. There were only 2 real stages, I've watched some of the coverage now and it quite simply wasn't the same festival I was at! Loads of backstage coverage is just utterly pointless.

Pixies were well... Pixies, Gigantic was a bit longer with Joey doing some guitar stuff. Kim messed up In Heaven a bit at the end but they had a laugh. They seemed to enjoy themselves anyway.

Also saw Human League, Pixie Lott, Ladyhawke, The Rakes, White Lies, Maximo Park, James Walsh acoustic set, Pains of Being Pure at Heart (criminally poor attendance), Glen Matlock acoustic set and The Charlatans.

"I was recently quoted about the state of the music business, and I was saying it should be kind of a $5 world right now. Records and tickets should be cheap, given the overpricing of the recent years and the state of the world economy. But now, this box comes out and I feel like the biggest ******** in the world."

Glad we finally have some actual "new dates" to support the thread title.

Apparently this tour is being touted as the Doolittle tour, with all songs from the album and associated b-sides of the period to be played. Tickets on sale Friday...

Will probably go on the Friday. Tickets on the balcony this time, as last time we saw them there we were downstairs and my 5'2" wife could not see a thing.

Considering that the Pixies used to be based in Manchester during their heyday you'd think they'd be at least a show at the Apollo.

Having a nightmare too. Ticketmaster keeps saying "No exact matches". Seetickets always busy.

Ticketweb I am in a queue, which is at least promising - EDIT not promising, got to the end of the q and the tickets had left my basket

Gigantic had some standing (I am after seated)

I think they've sold out for Dublin - which is unbelievable - I refreshed ticketmaster.ie and they weren't onsale - refreshed again and they were, then by the time i searched, they were all gone. Gutted.
