Absolutely love this show. Is there anything out there as cerebral and seeping with depth and hidden meanings?

So much to talk about!

My concern is that very few people in America are watching this show and therefore there is a risk that it won't be renewed for a third season.

I reckon it will get a third season, but hopefully they prep some kind of ending just in case

You could show your support for the show by sending HBO an email.

On Reddit people are concerned about cancellation and this link was put up so people could voice their support directly to HBO. I sent an email earlier today. You never know!

Anything airing the same time as The Walking Dead is going to struggle with viewers. My main concern is Westwood starts next year, which will more than likely nab The Leftovers timeslot?
The good thing is its on HBO who tend to give shows a chance. Boardwalks viewers dipped each season and that got 5. I can imagine it's budget was much higher than The Leftovers as well.

Here's to hoping, even if it's just an 8 episode season! Although I did read the writers are pleased with this seasons finale in terms of wrapping it all up, so looks like they possibly aren't expecting a renewal :/

That was astonishing. I watched with literally no idea about what was going to happen.

Doesn't happen too often these days.

I honestly cannot think of any other show which I enjoy anywhere near as much as this....

Gedalia, how on earth did you see all that stuff?? Respect! I was just hanging onto my sofa wondering what the heck was going on....

Another top notch episode with things coming together now for the end of the season. The whole time Tom was wondering around that camp I kept thinking

I love that you absolutely cannot tell what is going to happen next.

You would think that if the GR knew Meg was trying to buy explosives, showing increasingly violent tendencies e.t.c. they would put her on a leash/put a spy on her. I mean, if she does indeed blow something up, the bridge? which they alluding to which probably wont happen, the Government/ATFE/FBI e.t.c. are going to come down like a tonne of bricks on the GR and mess up their operations.

Not the greatest episode. It felt like it was just there to build up to the season final.

But...

That was an absolutely stunning finale.

And perhaps the end of the show.

Incredible.

I can only echo your statement, stunning, beautifully shot, great music, superb performances and possibly one of the best lines ever:

"You pushed a little girl down a well you don't want to sing"

Had me in stitches. At least if it is the last episode there is at least some semblance of closure for the Garvey family. Easily the best show of this TV season.

I had to rewind the scene where the mother ran across the bridge to her daughter three times. So sad with just the music playing, really moved me.

Yeah that was great too, I actually shouted out a few profanity myself at that moment.

It's such a shame that this'd may not go any further, people complain there is nothing but reboots and remakes coming out of Hollywood then totally ignore something this good and original.

Has anyone read the book this is based on?

So pleased that they nailed the finale, capping arguably one of the best seasons of any show. Finale encapsulated everything great about The Leftovers: emotional, bold and often weird storytelling.

Really hope it gets a third season, but it would work as an overall finale as well. It's not like we'd get any answers if there was another season, it's never been one of those shows.

If The Following can get 3 seasons and Falling Skies can get 5 then anything is possible. If it gets cancelled after such a brilliant series then we might as well turn off the lights and join the Guilty Remnant.

It's fortunate that it's on HBO as they've stuck by shows in the past despite the ratings. Most other networks though and The Leftovers wouldn't stand a chance given its drop in ratings this season.
