I'm pretty much watching on FF now (which I realise is pointless). This is just bad and it pains me to say that. I wonder if it'll even get a second season? edit - tvbythenumbers has it predicted as a renewal.

I've not seen any of the films this follows. Is everyone expecting too much because those films were amazing?
I don't like many of the characters much but I find the series watchable enough.

For those that care, Channel 4 censored the most recent episode that was shown because it was a bit gruesome. This is what we were meant to see, and it does make a plot point a bit clearer (what they were actually doing to Coulson):

Yep, but they will catch up very quickly as it's off again in the US for two weeks now. There's only been 5 new eps so far this year so you can see why C4 delayed bringing it back so they can show them in one continuous block and still finish at pretty much the same time.

You know what's really wrong with this show (apart from dull writing and paper-thin characters)? It lacks any kind of atmosphere, like it all takes place in the most stifling, airless, boring place known to man, a vacuum that literally sucks the life out of everything around it.

I found the most recent UK episode ('Seeds') a step up, entertaining and interesting throughout. The characters seemed to gel better than usual.

this has really picked up over the last few episodes... last night (america) episode was excellent and had me on the edge of my seat for the last few minutes. starting to tie very neatly in to the marvel universe.

the plot looks to be tying nicely into captain america 2 so, those of you who've seen that will know there should be some exciting and interesting ramifications on the world of Agents of SHIELD in the coming weeks...

So it's worth grinding through? I watched the first couple but it really didn't grab my attention.

while I'll admit that the first few episodes are a bit crappy, maybe the first half of the season, im glad stuck with it. the acting is better (albeit marginally) but the stories and scripts are tighter and the characters are being developed very nicely.

series 2 should prove very interesting...

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Yeah, it's improved massively in the past few episodes.

Given the apparently close tie-in between the TV series and the new movie, with events happening in sequence between the two, it seems a little silly that in the UK the movie opened a week earlier yet the TV Series is running a couple of weeks behind. A little bit of planning there may not have gone amiss.

Yes, that's bugging me too.

I'm still watching UK pace, and T.A.H.I.I.T.I. was the best episode of the series so far. Genuinely had me on the edge of my seat, Bill Paxton an awesome addition to the cast and Clark Gregg really upping his acting chops.

EDIT: Okay, I'm caught up now. This is impressive, clearly a lot of this had been planned from the start. The events of Captain America 2 and the past few episodes show that they really want to start linking everything together and there's been huge foreshadowing in the show.

Can't wait to see where this is going.

ok....latest episode really ties to Captain America 2

Really good one too

If you've not seen Cap...I'd stop on the agents of shield for a bit until you have as major spoilers

Really? Why would they do that so as to alienate all the viewers that hadn't yet seen CA2?

Now that was nicely done. Strong ties to the events of the movie and exciting developments within the show's own storylines too. Characters have suddenly developed personalities over the past few episodes, and this is beginning to feel like a show worthy of having Joss Whedon's name attached. Did not see some of this stuff coming.

Yep, it spoils lots of things that happen in the CA2 movie if you haven't seen it, and it should. The two are closely linked and the producers always intended it to be for the same audiences. It's been advertised that way since its inception, a shared universe. I think it's a first for a TV show.

It's steadily becoming more enjoyable. The last two episodes (UK pace) at least had some sense of movement. The latest one did get particularly daft when they had
but at least it's doing enough to keep some interest.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Wow! This week's US episode was superb. In the last 3-4 episodes this has gone from biggest disappointment to now living up to its potential. The only bad thing I can say is I'm really surprised at how much they gave away regarding the Cap 2 movie. I know the box office has been huge in the US but I'm sure there's a lot of the tv-show fans who haven't seen the movie yet...

wow want can I say, this has turn from 'wallpaper while I surf' to 'my full attention' and that's pretty big praise from me.
