3lbs : New US Medical Drama *Spoilers*

Surprised no-one has started a thread about this new show.

Despite being US medical-drama-by-numbers, it was reasonably entertaining & worth another look. I always enjoy Stanley Tucci, although he seems rather subdued in this role, as the main Brain Surgeon. Basically it's a rip-off of House, but concentrating on Brain surgery. It checks all the right boxes with regard to typical US hospital dramas...

1. Main character has an ailment. (Hallucinations)

2. New trainee doctor joins genius doctor & instantly they dont get on.

3. Hot lady doctor. (Indira Varma from Rome & Torchwood )

4. Strange ailment-of-the-week.

5. CGI travel-through-the-body to show us what's wrong.

6. Music from UK band during the slow-mo finale. (Coldplay "Fix You")

It was, erm, just a bit "meh" really. Bland. Good to see Griffin Dunne, mind you.

Much better 2nd episode, especially with regard to the ailment-of-the-week which was fascinating ... splitting someone's brain in half?!? ... Yikes!

Also noticeable this week was how similar the music is to House. I've not checked but i'd be surprised if it wasn't the same composer. Thankfully no Brit-band music over the end montage.
