The Nine 1 - 1 (Spoilers)

Great opening for a promising show.
Yet again this has more questions than answers. What happened to the girl especially.
Nice to see Mr "Eyes" back on the screen again whatever his name is!
I wonder how long the flashbacks will last and if we'll find out everything before the show is cancelled?

There's a companion official website for this: http://www.onlytheyknow.com

Poor old Tim Daly's not had much luck recently: Eyes was cancelled / dropped, and then the big play he was in on Broadway was closed early. Hopefully The Nine won't be the third thing to finish too soon!

Saw the pilot and thought it was a cut above. Looking forward to seeing how it pans out - extremely intriguing.

One of the most promising of the pilots. I really liked this, and look forward to seeing where it goes (or rather, where it went).

Definitely one of the better new shows, although there is no way they can string this out for more than one season ... can they?

Was the aired episode identical to the pilot?

I thought this was a touch boring myself, and the thought of another flashback show where we're constantly teased by elements being gradually shaded in, well...

Not for me, I'm afraid. I really don't need to know what happened in those 52 hours (or whatever) that desperately.

Agree with anephric. I kept watching until the end of the show, wondering if something more interesting was going to happen, but wasn't until the last minute that we were teased with a tidbit of what might have happened while they were held hostage. Afraid it wasn't enough for me to want to watch more, despite the good cast and acting.

Saw the pilot when it was 'released', and will definitely be checking out the 2nd episode next week. It's an interesting concept but one I really can't see lasting more than one season. Plus if any of the cast leaves, they're totally stuffed.

Couldn't find another thread for this using search.
Anyway,it's been pulled from the schedules.
I can't say I'm too bothered.I loved the opening of the first episode but the show treads in soap opera territory too long each episode without moving the bank heist flashback fast enough so I was ready to give it up.

Even though it picked up in the last few epidoes, it just never seemed to 'go' anywhere. Thought there weer going to be some major twists but they never materialised - thr last twist about what happened between the doctor and his pregnant missus was poor beyond belief. Shame, asi t could have been so much better.

I thought it was rubbish to be honest, the only good part was what happened in the bank...

I hated the way they made The Nine seem like some major consultancy supreme court body (with their "what has the nine decided?" quotes) and it really did seem to turn into a soap opera towards the end (I don't really care that Audrey is getting married to some DA dude, and that trouble is the dude from Eyes and his roomie is some funny dude who left his wife and now goes on Lord of the Rings elf trips while some other woman has a mother).

If the trial prep had actually started, or they exploited Stockholm Syndrome a lot more, then it might have been better.

Quote:
On Saturday November 25, ABC announced that they pulled the critically acclaimed but ratings-challenged series from its schedule effective immediately. The show ratings were so low that they averaged just 8.6 million viewers, fumbling more than half of the 17.7 million viewers who watched its lead-in, "Lost."
So they might put it back on the air when Lost resumes?
