Science Fiction: Double Feature

As most of you will know the opening song from Rocky Horror Picture Show is Science Fiction Double Feature - and over the course of the song it mentions several films.

Quote:
Michael Rennie was ill
The Day the Earth Stood Still
But he told us where we stand
And Flash Gordon was there
in silver underwear
Claude Rains was The Invisible Man
Then something went wrong
For Fay Wray and King Kong
They got caught in a celluloid jam
Then at a deadly pace
It Came From Outer Space
And this is how the message ran...

Science fiction (ooh ooh ooh) double feature
Doctor X (ooh ooh ooh) will build a creature
See androids fighting (ooh ooh ooh) Brad and Janet
Anne Francis stars in (ooh ooh ooh) Forbidden Planet
Wo oh oh oh oh oh
At the late night, double feature, picture show

I knew Leo G. Carroll
Was over a barrel
When Tarantula took to the hills
And I really got hot
When I saw Janette Scott
Fight a Triffid that spits poison and kills
Dana Andrews said prunes
Gave him the runes
And passing them used lots of skills
But When Worlds Collide
Said George Pal to his bride
I'm gonna give you some terrible thrills
Like a...

To the late night, double feature, picture show
By R.K.O. - Wo oh oh oh
To the late night, double feature, picture show
In the back row - Oh oh oh oh
To the late night, double feature, picture show
From the song I've highlighted these which I know...

The Day the Earth Stood Still
Flash Gordon
The Invisible Man
King Kong
It Came From Outer Space
Forbidden Planet
Tarantula
Day of the Triffid
When Worlds Collide

Can anyone shed anylight on "Doctor X" and what film he could be talking about staring Dana Andrews? I really fancy watching all of these (prefferably in one sitting ) I've seen Day the Earth Stood Still and King Kong and I've bought When Worlds Collide this weekend.

The Dana Andrews film where "prunes gave him the runes" is Night of the Demon.

Dr. X is *cough* Dr. X.

anephric got the two you were missing...

The Day the Earth Stood Still
Flash Gordon
The Invisible Man
King Kong
It Came From Outerspace
Doctor X
Forbidden Planet
Tarantula
The Day of the Triffids
Night of the Demon
When Worlds Collide

apparently all the films that are mentioned in the opening song were produced by the RKO studio and at the end of the movie the radio tower says RKO.

Some of them were produced by RKO but "When Worlds Collide", "Night of the Demon", "Tarantula", "It Came From Outer Space" and "Forbidden Planet" were certainly not.
