Wow that looks quite damn good, seem to have given away the whole plot of the film though.

This being a remake of one of the most famous films ever, it's not like the plot is a great surprise for most anyway.

Looks ok, not great though... I expect the effects to be better in the finished film.

Not blown away yet, I'm not a massive fan of the LOTR films tbh but Jackson always comes across as a really nice fellow when interviewed so I'm sure to see this when it comes out.

Have to agree the trailer isnt really that great and suprised also at how much of the story it tells - still very excited but really hope Jackson has a whole load of suprises and originality left to show us otherwise could be Jurrasic Park 2 and 3 all over again.

Also is it just me or did Kong look smaller than I remember from the original - the bit where he throws the taxi made him look more Mighty Joe Young size than King ...cant see him being big enough to pop his head through the train line ?

I too thought that Kong looked a bit small. Sure, he is big for a gorilla, but Kong needs to be even more imposing.

Very surprised, though, that they show so much of Kong so early in the film's promotion.

What? You mean the gorilla doesn't romp happily with his saucy bint a la Tanya's Island?

Vanity, where for art thou?

Whilst he's not as big as I expected, he is big enough to hold someone in the palm of his hand and throw a car. And battle and evolved T-Rex. So he's not that small... I expect they went through alot of development when chosing his size.

What a bunch of size queens.

I can see why they've scaled him down a bit. It makes him more credible as an oversize gorilla, more relatable to as character and more vulnerable when he has to be later on. He also won't just be a hand and a face when he interacts with Ann Darrow. As long as he's tall enough to rip up dinosaurs and throw around cars he's big enough for me.

Unlike Godzilla this isn't about stomping on buildings after all. King Kong is a "Beauty and the Beast" love story as much as it is an adventure and Kong is more of a tragic hero than a monster.

Besides which, if he's smaller there's more "room" for inter-species luurrrve.

What a strange idea...You see a film judging on whether the director seems like a "nice fellow", not on the merits of said director or film?

I thought the trailer looked amazing, I must say. But I do agree that rather than a teaser, it seemed like a full blown trailer with lots of the plot and clips of key scenes thrown in.

I've got the Teaser and this is what should have be shown today, the above is a full blown trailer, as in the teasers no plot, no names nothing just music and running.

I'll try and host it but it will be only up for a few hours or so.

Looks okay, some of the cg looks awful. Especially the really fake looking naomi watts stood infront of Kong towards the end of the trailer. I really hope they sort most of it out before release.

Seems like everybody's just bothered about special effects these days (and a real authority on them as well). I'm sure this is work in progress and technically it will look a lot better by christmas.

I'm bothered about how pedestrian much of the trailer itself looks. Peter Jackson is a fanboy and this looks like a fanboy's film, slavishly faithfull to the original with not an ounce of originality or genuine imagination. You need a bit of visual poetry to make this surreal romance work and I'm not sure a director with as literal an approach as Jackson has can make it work. I found the New York shots especially disappointing. Rather than the glittering art deco monument to civilisation of the original this looks just like period piece dullsville.
