Was lucky enough to see the first episode of the new series today at the Doctor Who Tour when it his Sunderland tonight. I think Matt Smith is going to be "THE" Doctor for loads of people from now on. I instantly forgot about David Tennant!!!!!

how did you get tickets? My daughters school didn't get any, but the echo mentioned some schools were given tickets. Where was it held?

It was held at the University. Managed to get in through Spark FM (the community radio station ran from the Uni).

It was a strict invite only from the BBC. They selected schools that were invited.

I've heard this from a few people involved with the show now, the criticism for him is 100% positive that i've heard so far.

I do like my 'doctor's' have a sense, vibe or air of being alien. That's what i got from Tom Baker and Eccleston and that what i get from Matt Smith, so feel good

Tennant was a rubbish doctor, some good stories, but as a doctor, he was crap, he always gave the impression that he was more worried about how 'cool' he looked on screen more than anything else
