Question King Kong (1976) R2 (French) 2-disc set

Has anyone got this dvd?

http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASI...561688-0713826

Rewind has made the slightly odd comment that the French subtitling "seems to be forced" and the 80 (!) page booklet is "probably in French". I wonder if anyone actually had a copy to review....

This is one of my favourite films and I've held out from purchasing either of the current versions (Momentum UK R2 and Paramount R1) as both are pretty poor in the extras department. I don't mind French text in the booklet but could obviously do without French subtitles.

Can anyone confirm Rewind's assumptions and does anyone know if this set will be getting a UK R2 or R1 release?

Wouldn't the use of the twin towers at the end of the film cause amercan studios problems of some kind?

In what way?

The Peter Jackson remake presumably uses the Empire State Building like the original King Kong film.

If you're refering to an updated DVD then no, just look at the recent release of Escape From New York!

Remembered seeing this at the Dominion theatre in London in 76.

Had to queue up for hours with my mum and my brother.
