Fair comment.
But I am also in favour of letting in new young talent.
It would be hard to have a rule about kicking out older drivers, but I do think Vettel/Alonso/Raikonnen etc should all move on.

Surely the main issue is that you've actually only really got space for one or two drivers at a time and how many drivers do they have vying for the spots?

Used to be each year that the F3000 champion and maybe one other got a spot, now they seem to be more managed and there isn't much scope for learning the ropes anymore.

Away with that ageism crap. If your good enough age shouldn’t matter both for breaking into the ranks and staying there.

F1 is a business so the older drivers help to bring in money from advertising etc. as well.

Inherently you get a stable driver and keep sticking other drivers against him until you find one better ie Max himself, Vettel, Hamilton, LeClerc...all came in and beat the person next to them.

Turkey confirmed! Welcome back turn 8, November 15th

Also Bahrain twice (28th Nov, 6th Dec) looks like the same version each time sadly, and then Abu Dhabi to finish it off, Dec 13th.

Not ageist in the slightest.
LeClerc is beating Vettel in every metric, and even Giovinazzi is finishing ahead of Raikonnen.
The teams are scared to sack some of these drivers, for the sponsorship/profile reasons mentioned above.
So they should do the decent thing, and retire. Of if you prefer, bow out gracefully.

Maybe Bottas and Albon should be sacked too as they are getting whipped in every metric. Or do the decent thing and retire.

Just seen that the second race will be on the short 'outer' circuit, and fully night race, with possibly sub 55s laps

Bahrain

I’ve said it before and I will definitely say it again the Ferraris are looking woeful, I don’t see a point in sacking him but you have to wonder how long the managements patients will last with Binotto.

The Ferrari sector 1 side by side comparison shown just now on sky, this year to last, was extraordinary

Yeah today isn't the way I'd have hoped they'd be equivalent. Though I'm genuinely happy Williams have made some relative forward progress, albeit aided by the Ferrari PU teams woes.

Wonder if we're going to see another Monza style "after you" final qualifying session now...

Ridiculous not to red flag this with all the sharp debris they're driving through
