Martinez sacked by Everton, would he be up for a move to Celtic? Of the names being touted before now, I'd say he would be the best available manager. I'm sure there was talk of him being considered a few years ago then Mowbray was eventually announced.

Hibs and Falkirk play on Friday night, the "non handball/penalty" decision by the ref was incredible and Hibs would be right to feel aggrieved if they end up losing in this round.

Hibs'ed it! Only had to hold out for a few minutes of injury time and they would probably have been favourite to get the winner.

Dundee Utd are really going to struggle to make it back up next year.

Deboer has just resigned from Ajax....I'd fancy him as an outside bet....meets the celtic criteria of working with limited funds etc... Very cheap option for celtic.

Interestingly Lawell said on Thursday "we hope to appoint a manager within 2 weeks"....that is very quick so I suspect negotiations with someone are very well on.....my three frontruners - Keane, Rogers and Deboer

Would you be happy to sign an ex ranger, although he wasn't with us as long as his brother. I think he is a certainty for everton though.

Hope you're feeling a bit better mate.

I think FdB is favourite for the Everton job isn't he? I'm surprised Rogers hasn't picked up another job in England yet to be honest, was there not talk of him going back to Swansea?

Hibs just keep on ballsing it up when it looks impossible to do so. Another season in the championship to look forward to after talk of a treble earlier in the season. A lot of fans would apparently be happy to win the scottish cup rather than being promoted....

Financially they could be on a really sticky wicket next season depending on season ticket numbers as there's no parachute payment due and i'm guessing without Rangers or even Hearts the tv money is going to be less too.

Joey Barton is up having signing talks with us this weekend and we've just picked up Jordan Rossiter from Liverpool for buttons. Think we will need to sign a couple of defensive players but I'd be happy with Ball coming back up on loan and we need another forward, with rumours that a bid may be going in for Cummings after the cup final.

Brendan Rodgers confirmed for Celtic, good appointment and it will be interesting in seeing him and Warburton against each other next season. I'd expect he has been given some guarantees about the money he will have to spend so they could bring in a few decent players. Think there will need to be a bit of a clear out though and could easily be 10 players shown the door.

I'm working during the cup final but finish at 5 so going to try and get home and watch without finding out the score.

Probably a good appointment all round to be fair, he'd struggle to mess it up

To be fair you could drag a bloke off the street and he'd struggle to mess it up.

on the contrary it's a tough gig. Delia just sacked despite winning back to back titles. It's not enough . Celtic have to win the league and put up a good showing in Europe on a shoestring budget . If this is not achieved he will be on a shoogily peg soon enough.

Rodgers is never going to succeed in Europe as he can't set up a decent defence. He'll be fine in the league but found out against anyone half decent.

Still, it's a nice boost for the Glasgow tanning salons.

I guess wee Joe Allen will be getting a call...

They [media] make out that Rodgers has won trophies and had an illustrious career.... Um, no, not yet.

Little less singing about fenian bastar ds might be warranted, sevco fans. At 2-1 up, that's a little early to be bringing out that repertoire.

Edit: little less running out on the pitch, hibs fans. That won't end well.

Utterly pathetic and idiotic behaviour.. especially the ones running up to gloat in front of the blue fans. Assaults on the police too.
No wonder there is so much hatred of football and football fans.

As a neutral, it was a good game of football.

Fans spoil everything..

Trouble is that anyone condemning it is Scotland is going to look like a hypocrite as they'd be waving their scarves if it was the National team at Wembley again. Also, the sectarian stuff is worse than the pitch invasion and always has been but, again, it's tolerated through mealy mouthed, half hearted condemnation.

I didn't see it. Was it any worse than Brighton fans running on and gloating in the Derby player's and manager's faces the other night?

6 Rangers players and assistant manager Davie Weir were assaulted by Hibs fans at the end of the game. Lee Wallace punched to the ground then kicked by several of them. A pitch invasion with players being assaulted is far worse than anything being sung, utterly ridiculous.

Good game (apart for the result), thought we controlled the game however Hibs had more chances. We have struggled with corners all season and it showed again with 2 sloppy goals.

HI Frothy...I'm getting there...very slow progress...thanks for asking bud. I'll update my thread mate.

ps - I wish I could get 10 minutes with the eejits from all sides and show them how inconsequential football is in the grand scheme of things.
