Thinking about trying the WWE Network over Christmas, they are advertising a free month's trial. Anyone got it, is it as good as it seems - complete archive of WWE, WCW and ECW PPVs - do the events have their original entrance themes (some DVDs have cut out or overdubbed entrance music).
I was at that one - thought Ambrose v Owens was a great match.

Network is great value - they don't have everything, but there's enough to keep everyone entertained. Some of their original programmes are quite good too - they have a Jackass-style prank show, and some talk shows that are worth a watch.

Chyna has been found dead. I only ever watched the wrestling around the turn of the century when it was on C4 but she was a big star back then.

She made an impact on the story line that's for sure

Given that the period she was active in was when any pretense of "real" wrestling was gone and it was all story line she managed to do a pretty good job of "terrorising" everyone in and out of the ring.

It is a shame as from everything I've heard she was a nice person in real life

Yep, she was great in the attitude era.

Love how the WWE jump on the bandwagon today even though they threw her to the kerb when Stephanie starting seeing Tripple H behind her back. Which then sent her into a downward spiral.

Unfortunately for her Prince died the same day

I think she was already well on her way down that spiral. Sad news.

So, the brand split is back, Smackdown is moving to a Tuesday.

Will it be a good or bad thing?

I think having more time for the mid-carders and women's division will be a good thing, but having a split world championship title was never as good as having a single unified belt.

Better for the talent if they get a bit more of a break from the schedule but yep, the world title split is a terrible idea.

Has anyone been watching Vice's Dark Side of the Ring documentary series? Had a 6-ep debut season last year and is now more than half way through its 2nd season. I haven't watched wrestling properly in years but I'm pretty obsessed with Wrestling podcast shoots from pretty much any period before this century and this new documentary series IMO is easily the best thing wrestling-related we've seen on TV in decades. Man the Last Von Erich episode hits you right in the feels! As does the Benoit two-parter.

Dark Side is brilliant, S1 was superb. The Benoit eps were hard to watch. The New Jack one was crazy, Jack is mental and the Brawl For All one was very interesting and showed just what an absolte cluster it was

Yeah and despite the fact that I've heard multiple shoot accounts of pretty much every topic they've covered so far, they've still been able to surprise me in almost every episode, like actually broadcasting a half way watchable recording of the mass transit match!

There's a 30min interview with Jim Cornette on YouTube where he fleshes out much of the detail of the Brawl for All that the producers had to gloss over.

No surprise started to watch WrestleMania turned off after 20 miNutes no crowds no atmosphere I guess the shows being done behind closed doors is killing WWE income at the moment
Watching raw on Monday and it’s so bad without crowds you can hear a pin drop

Imagine they will show up over here in time. Their The Wrestlers series appeared on Sky/Vice a few months after the Stateside broadcast.

I've not seen any but checked and Season 1 is available on Vice on demand and you can get that through Sky and I guess in other places as well.
