If there is a positive note to come out of the events of the last few days, is that The Ultimate Warrior buried the hatchet with a lot of ex-WWE wrestlers before he died. His real-life feuds with Jake Roberts, Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan as well as Vince McMahon are well documented but after his induction into the Hall of Fame, it appears a lot of bridges were mended - even Stephanie McMahon tweeting a photo of the Warrior and her father embracing with the words "Never say never"

Watching his speech on Raw with hindsight, is chilling and emotional. Brought back into the fold and gaining acceptance again is a fitting close to this remarkable man's career and life.

Reading the tributes from fellow WWE wrestlers, you get an insight into the legend that he was - Daniel Bryan tweeting that he had shook the hand of the Warrior with the same excitement as a fan would.

The WWE is a different world today - the industry has moved on but some old school wrestlers remain. I will remember the Ultimate Warrior fondly and look back at a time when wrestling was truly great.

The Warrior's theme tune from the NES game I played to death as a kid:

Used to love WWF when I was a nipper!

Hulk Hogan formed the nWo 18 years ago this month.
That makes me feel really old, but also miss that era of wrestling.

I've been watching my old tapes and am about a year away from reaching Bash at the Beach 96.

The one thing we forget about that period is that 1993-95 is pretty bloody awful. The WWF PPV main events in mid-1995 were: -

- Diesel vs Sid
- Diesel & Bam Bam Bigelow vs Sid & Tatanka
- Diesel vs Sid (again!)
- Diesel vs King Mabel

Fortunately, the undercard was pretty decent at times (Shawn Michaels vs Jeff Jarrett and Bret Hart vs Hakushi being the high points).

WCW was actually worse though (Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Dave Sullivan, The Renegade, etc)...

Thank god for ECW, which was a complete breath of fresh air. A lot of it still holds up today.

Raw was a 3hr advert for the network.

If youre trying to get people to sign up for the network surely you'd have a stronger main event than

I know the reasons why but the build up to Summerslam so far has been poor.

Yeah, the Paul Heyman Blu-Ray is amazing. He's such an intelligent and creative human being.

Lots of work I've been doing recently in innovation management is all about experience being the enemy of creativity. He's a shining example of this.

Sting and Savage ones are out before the end of the year, but I enjoyed this because of how few matches there were on the two discs. It shows what a great talker he is.

Hopefully they'll eventually get together with Jim Cornette to put one of him out. He and Heyman are two of the most important people in wrestling of the last 30 years (as managers, as promoters of ECW/SMW, and as bookers for OVW).

There was one about Vince that was out quite a few years ago. I think it was called 'McMahon' or something. I haven't seen it myself, but heard one or two stories from the documentary.

Edit: here is is: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mcmahon-DVD-...ywords=McMahon

and $5.51 from the US: http://www.amazon.com/WWE-McMahon-Vi...ywords=McMahon

For anyone who complains about the UK mostly getting house show events, I made it to my first live RAW in Chicago last Monday (did anyone see an England flag high up in the rafters?). Such painfully long waits between the action for ad breaks and promos etc., I saw far more action at the UK Leeds house shows recently. Went to the Sheffield tapings a while back but they were obviously not being filmed live so not so many breaks.

The post-event action was good fun though:

Steve Austin is going a live podcast (on the WWE Network, meh) with Vince. It will surely be on his podcast - am looking forward to that. Vince and Taker are surely the biggest two 'gets' for wrestling podcasts.

Not that Steve is complete wrestling on his - on his latest one he stops driving to shoot at wasps.
