New (ish) album from Anna Ternheim, For the young. Bought the CD then discovered a limited edition clear vinyl with a gorgeous gatefold sleeve/built in booklet. I had to have it

Both sound great!

I don't know the name of the Artist. I heard this track for the first time while I was playing Hitman Absolution. And I really liked it.

The title is "Black Bandana".

Been listening to the unplugged indoor concert of The Corrs. The version I got is about 70 minutes long. Really enjoying it.

La La Land soundtrack

Pavo Pavo - Young Narrator in the Breakers. Great album. Some Beach Boys vibe there.

Rag and Bone Mans album 'Human' is a stellar debut. I was a little concerned when I saw the plethora of writers and producers, but this is a great album that really showcases his voice, with production not being too heavy handed.

I thought Wolves was his first album but apparently it's an 8 track EP

I've only played Human once and nothing on it compares to the rather awesome "Hard Came The Rain".

Michael Jackson - You Rock My World

People don't listen to Michael Jackson these days. But I do, I still listen to his tracks. "Heal the World" is my most favorite.

Ryan Adams new album Prisoner is well worth a listen. Not exactly a laugh a minute, but excellent nevertheless. For the 2nd album on the run, he's really nailed a great guitar sound.

Despite multiple listens, I'm still struggling to enjoy the new Depeche Mode album. Only the opening track, "Going Backwards" is close to what I'd deem a classic Mode track IMO.

The single, "Where's the Revolution" is ok but everything else is bland & unremarkable...

Are there any newer bands that get close to that classic dark electro-pop sound of early Mode that I can try & help me get over the disappointment?

Try Crosses - it's a Deftones side project that was basically created to be a DM tribute.

Also, if you don't know it, Marilyn Manson's Mechanical Animals was the one where he dropped a lot of the guitars and went for a darker electro sound.

Nothing like Depeche Mode but I'm listening to the Sacred Paws album on constant repeat.

I'm really into Flying Microtonal Banana by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard at the moment. Apparently they all bought cheap instruments and modified them so that they played microtonal notes. It's bloody awesome.

On a tangent can anyone explain to me the love for Thundercat? The one with Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald is a throwback to the worst kind of 80s AOR imaginable.

Yeah i thought the Thundercats record was as dull as dish water too.

Much better records out this week are the ace new ones by Grandaddy, Spoon and here comes the riff raff.
