Deep Impact - Bluray release

Picked up the HMV Exclusive Bluray release for a tenner and watched it tonight.

I'd not seen it since the dvd was released.

Really enjoyed it. I was really surprised that it's 11 years old. It hasn't dated too badly at all. The Twin Towers and a pubescent Elijah Wood (see what I've done...) are the only things which give it's age away.

The CGI looked good considering. Transfer looked nice and crisp but nothing special.

Also a very impressive cast - An early role for Jon Favreau I'd forgotten about too.

The only upsetting thing was Dougray Scott popping up at the end and not dying

I also just picked up the Blu version of Deep Impact. I've always liked the movie and I'll be sure to give the disc a spin sooner rather than later.

I'll be honest, I'm more of an Armageddon fan. I know it's not popular to like that movie but I think it is brilliant. Trashy, loud and stupid. My most anticipated Blu release at the moment.

But Deep Impact is good too. Love end of the world Sci-fi.

I think there is plenty of room for both movies

'Deep impact' has some fine fine comedy moments! Me, my bro and sis are obviously all quite evil because we found the highly melodramtic Tea Leoni on the beach bit very funny but people all around us were crying their eyes out!
"Daddy!" cue big wave *swoosh*
A bit like in Titantic when the ship's designer (Jack Bristow from Alias) is standing by his mantle and all the items slide off of it.
I was always find moments like that funny!

Mine too. I can't wait for Armageddon, its one of the best action movies of the 90's and wonderfully shot and directed.
