Pro Evo Forum Closure

Due to ongoing difficulties and problems attributed to this forum, we have decided to close it from tomorrow. All relevant threads will be copied into the gaming forum (i.e one for PC and one for XBox).

Outstanding.

Thanks for giving us notice anyway - I blame the 360 mob - never any trouble here before

It's as I explained to you yesterday Lou and the general concensus behind the scenes is that it offers no tangible benefit to the site (which wasn't a problem in itself), but from that thread yesterday it gives all of us the impression that it is a melting pot for dissent and this is something that we are not prepared to put up with.

Yeah it's fair enough mate - the leagues will still keep going anyway.

Just don't understand how it will make things any easier for you to moderate.

This is the thread that caused all the trouble btw: http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/s...d.php?t=480947

I'm still at a loss to how it's even related to the evo forum at all, but hey ho.

There has been ongoing issues before that, with swearing and personal attacks, and expressed as a thread reports to posts ratio, causes more work for us then any other forum.

The thread yesterday just made us think of this forum. Whether Mick and damell are workmates (although one is from Glasgow and the other Hull) or Pro Evo regulars is the same thing to us, but we can reduce the problem by removing the forum.

It will also be simpler to moderate (and perhaps even make members think twice about what they are posting) as they will be exposed to more members and mods looking on. The only time I visit the Pro Evo forum is when a thread is reported to me, but I regularly look in on the gaming forum so that in itself will give us more coverage.

In fairness I haven't really ventured into the 360 threads so have no idea what was going on in there, so fair play.

Still a shame.

Eh we're not workmates. We are just mate mates if that's OK.

Dissent? Jesus ******* Christ. This really is the ****tiest, most over-moderated forum in the history of the interweb.

It goes something like this:

Mick posts a JOKING comment about damell

splobber's cock twitches

splobber *witty remark*

10 postwhore general forum dickheads LOL SPLOBS YOU ARE SO FUNNY (+1)

What a ******* load of *****.

Also if someone's reporting the threads in there its just them being total gimps. There's no animosity in there at all.

As this thread is going nowhere, best closed I think.

By many you mean two, one for PC and one for 360.

You either want to apologise to Alan b if what Mick is saying is true or pick yourself some better mates. You may also want to consider separate IP addresses..
