Crucial closed their support forum and kindly gave me a 2TB MX500 as a thank you for helping on there. I now have a crazy 6TB of SSD in this PC! And 0.5TB just sat in a drawer because cabling it up is a bit of a hassle atm until I need it so I've used its cables for the new drive.

Wow, thought I was doing well with the 2.75 TB in mine. I also had an unused 500GB MX500 in a drawer but due to an overzealous tidying up incident, don't have any more .

Likely covered and answered but may have since been updated

Can you use an SSD drive as a "virtual memory" drive within windows 10 ?
Ive found myself with an old Samsung 120gb SSD and was wandering what I could use it for

You could, but it would be slower reading/writing than RAM. Also, virtual memory would be extremely frequent writing which would eventually kill an SSD. I'd assume it wouldn't be recommended.

That's not correct. Windows queues up its virtual memory writes sequential and reads randomly from it making an SSD ideally for it. Microsoft have an article on it somewhere but since Crucial closed their forum - I no longer have access to my old posts to provide a citation for this. But it *is* the case.

Blimey. It’s been quiet in here ...

So I have a question.
Having watched this ...

https://youtu.be/7y-Fy1Q2O2k

I need to get myself an external ssd drive for forthcoming series x
I don’t need anymore than 1tb really, based on the games I have and it’s only going to be used for non series x titles

So, can anyone suggest a good all in one external ssd ? Or a bare bones drive along with caddy and cable ?

Cheers.
