Raspberry Pi Kodi help

Hi all. Can any one tell me if they have got dts-hd or true Dolby to work with a Pi. Got a Pi 1 and connected to my NAS but the files only play as plain DD or dts. Had a WDTV Live which played them fine but got a bit slow with all the films on it. Changed to an android box with kodi but android can't do HD sound so thought I'd try a pi, but no luck either.
Have I made a downgrade on the sound for a better user experience ?

I could be wrong but I don't think a Pi 1 does HD audio.

The PI2 doesn't do either bitstreamed HD audio either.

It can, however, (via openelec) decode HD audio formats to full channel LPCM, as long as your receiver supports it. You won't see the HD audio lamp light on your receiver though. It can also only be delivered by HDMI, not the optical output.

There's a very good explanation here

So digging out the amps manual it says it supports "multichannel linear PCM" so I guess that means I will get the full sound from a Pi 2 but the dts-hd light won't be active just dts

I don't think you'll get a DD/DTS light on the receiver at all, just an indication it's accepting PCM format audio.
