AVI Playback Problem

I have burned as data a couple of small AVI files on to CD to watch on TV My DVD player can handle these type of files normally but in this case it won't play them although it recognises they are there and they play fine on my PC. Would be very grateful for any help.~
Thanks,
Spears.

erm, it might say in the filename or download gspot through this page http://msmvps.com/chrisl/articles/11529.aspx.

Compare that to what your dvd player can actually play. At least then we can remove it from that equation.

Thanks for that. gspot advised the codecs capable of processing the file were: Microsoft Mpeg-4 Video Codec V1 and Mpeg4 Decoder DMO + Audio Codec: PCM Audio.
When I rendered the file gspot advised: Video Src Type 4cc: MPG4, Video Path: (S) --> AVI Splitter --> Mpeg4 Decoder DMO --> (R) and Audio Path: (S) --> AVI Splitter --> (R)

I compared this to my DivX player which has PCM Audio and RGB Video Out.
Please let me know wot u think.
Thanks,
Spears

.avi files don't play on DVD Players unless the dvd player in question supports xvid\divx files. Does your dvd player support divx or xvid?

If not, then you need to convert them to dvd compatible vobs. In which case it would be easier to search these forums for avi to dvd conversion. Or just download and point this at the files.
