Kew the Music?

HI, has anyone been to one of these events at Kew Gardens? Are they OK?

I quite fancy seeing The Human League with Blancmange, but am wary of open air gigs with picnic hampers and folding chairs.....

cheers

Just be grateful your OH isn't trying to get you to go to the Steps & Bjorn Again one [ though the more I think about it the more tempting it is ].

Never been to Kew before but other 'hampers and folding chairs' type gigs we have done have all had some sort of mosh pit at the front ( for non picnickers ) and the picnics / folding chair brigade are all put behind it.

Went a few years back (okay 6 apparently) to see Pink Martini there with that Munchkin bloke as support act (bit of a bargain given he was playing monster venues by then) and it was as AdamBrunt describes it. The stage was set on a non grass area in front of one of the glass houses with a paved area in front where the fans gathered and the chair and picnic element were back a bit on the grass.
