Comments attached to the News 'Amicus Classics this July' on Film @ The Digital Fix

Studiocanal have announced the UK DVD release of four genre classics from celebrated British studio Amicus Productions. Warlords of Atlantis (1978), At The Earth's Core (1976) and In the Land That Time Forgot (1975) all star Doug McClure and were directed by Kevin Connor....

They're fun movies, but I bought the box set in an HMV sale about five years ago (& The Land That Time Forgot must be ripe for a remake with todays CGI stuff), this just looks like a re-release, better covers, but Ł10 each is a bit much these days. It they were good re-mastered Blu's it would be very tempting

I had a quick look at a couple from my box, & the transfers look a bit ropey, probably just about OK back in the day, but on a bit screen now..oh dear! These are going to the Charity Shop. If these are the same old transfers....well, people will not be happy.
