Yeah I did. Looking to get Quadrophenia but its £21.

A Criterion is unlikely to be lower than £15 though?

Correct - basically we're screwed

PlayUSA was the last place that you could get them for a decent price in the UK. I am lucky in that we have a US office where I get mine sent to, then pick them up when I visit.

It's even worse for Japanese imports - it used to be over 200 yen to the pound, now its about 120 and even a basic CD is over the limit

Fancy starting an import business?

How about Yes Asia? Do they still re-ship from UK?

importcds i've seen mentioned though it seems hit and miss weather you get hit by customs and ********* are customs friendly.

If your buying 8 at once, Blurays for Everyone is a safe bet as its a flat $17 postage for 8 discs.

Otherwise, All Your Music on Amazon is generally customs free. It is for me, all discs seem to come from within the UK, but others have been stung so prepare yourself just in case.

I usually wait until they go on sale. $23 dollars is the sweet spot, anything below that and you're okay re: customs.

As I've said before, it's worth bunging any Criterion you fancy into an Amazon wishlist. It's then easy to check every now and then to see if any have dropped. Sometimes even some of the full price ones drop to $18 and I bagged the usually pricey Fanny & Alexander for $28 the other day

All your music looks tempting, but not sure I want to risk it. How much customs tax would I actually end up paying though?

Maybe I'll just wait for the sale. Thanks for the tips!

They have a lower postage price if you only want a single disc, think its around $10 which is pretty fair.

Quadrophenia blu is currently $19.99 on DeepDiscount with $5.99 postage to UK. Was supposed to be a yesterday only deal so hurry.

Dammit!! Had it in my cart for $19.99 and then for some reason wouldn't let me pay. Went back to add it again and now $26. Grrr.

Thanks anyway!

I'm just about to order The Samurai Trilogy from there, so order at the same time, and we'll cross our fingers together. As I say, last disc I got from there was posted from a UK warehouse about 10 minutes away from me and arrived in about two days. Others speak ill of them, but out of a good many, many or so discs bought from there, Ive not been stung once.

I regularly use HDMoviesource; their prices are competitive, delivery pretty quick, with great customer service. They even sourced a hard to find BD for me and sold it on at a good price.

Quadrophenia was down to £19 from All Your Music, so went ahead to order it. Fingers crossed it gets through.

KRW, any word on your order?

Arrived today, so, what two weeks, £35 delivered and no customs charge. Not too shabby.

Weird postage label - has full customs declaration but was posted from Germany this time. I got La Promesse at the same time and same thing, no customs charge. I'm going to gamble on them being completely safe, but, like I say, other's have reckoned they've been charged on everything.

Their seller profile does say everything is despatched from one of their worldwide warehouses, so perhaps its just luck of the draw?
