I thought they deliberately set KotCS apart from the others by giving it a "pastelly" look, to reflect the era it's set in?

I dunno, i just see Raiders and Crystal Skull as more related than the other films for some reason, what with Indy and Marion continuing their adventures.

I think it's just the result of KOTCS having a different DOP.

Hopefully KOTCS will accidentally fall out of my set.

I agree, this guy is king of the desaturated look, so trying to match the great Douglas Slocombe's photography may have been a bit of a push. I don't think he quite makes it.

Let's not derail this thread with your overreaction to the forth Indy film. A film which is no worse than ToD, and many critics considered better.

Back to the blurays..

It's definitely better than ToD overall, although that film has some better action sequences towards the end.

I don't think one should ever pass up the chance to say what a steaming pile of poo KOTCS is.

I had really low expectations for KotCS, which is probably why I don't feel the raging hate for it that others do....

The only bit I actually really don't like is the whole fake-looking jungle chase and the subsequent CGI monkey bit....

Yes. Definitely a factor, but I thought I read an interview with Spielberg saying he was trying to go for a different look.

Went to see the fourth one at 9am on the first day, took a day off work we were that excited. We sat in McDonalds afterwards practically in tears, it was god awful.

The thing that annoyed me most about the 4th was George Lucas beforehand saying there would be no unnecessary CGI etc. and it was all old techniques. What do we see in the first bloody shot? CG gophers!

It was Spielbergo saying that they would use practical effects, not Lucas. In fact, Spielberg had to fight his corner just to shoot on film (not that it mattered, with the film getting a typically slick looking digital intermediate anyway).

McDonalds is indeed awful. What did you think of the film though?

Your a ******* prick roberto ... disliking a film is one thing... wishing a man dead is ******* disgusting... yes he has made mistakes but if u don't like the films don't watch them..it's as if u have come home and found the man on ya bird or bloke.personally he has visual brought entertainment of the highest quality to my eyes since may 1977..so many other filmmakers careers were brought to fruition because of what that man aspires to do. Like I said dont watch his revamped or new stuff... he ain't forcing ya to
