£93 so some sort of voucher must have been used.

Finger through centre and other finger on edge of disc, just slide it to the right and up, never had any trouble removing the discs from my Deadwood set which seems to use the same style packaging.

They sent my Game of Thrones set in a cardboard box so I don't think there is anything to worry about packaging wise.

You missed out on the 15% discount code, got it down to £76 then got 10% cash back so it's going to end up costing me less than £70

It's not much but you might get it for £72, as the price dropped to £90 briefly at HMV so their pre-order price promise should kick in. You might want to check though, as I asked at the same time as enquiring whether they would take my e-voucher off the price without having to re-order (which they wouldn't) and they said the price would be £72. However, I'm not sure if that's because I asked about it or whether it would have anyway. Might be worth a phone call or email just to be sure.

Thanks for the info I'm torn about whether to cancel with HMV now and go with Tesco Seems Tesco often deliver preorders on Saturdays, no chance of HMV doing that after changing to TNT now. Seems you're lucky if you get it by Monday now. Hmmmm!

Do you remember which date(s) the price was £90, just so I can add some sort of credibility to my email?

This is really odd, having said that with such a huge boxset any review is going to take a long time to compile!

There is a couple of rubbish reviews at Empire and Totalfilm purely because it is obvious they didn't actually have the boxset. Empire even said it wasn't even worth upgrading over the DVD UE DVD's !

Why should that be cause for concern. We know what half the films are going to look like and the other half will be the same.

The totalfilm "review" is a joke, it's not a review of anything let alone the actual discs.

Yeah, I did a Google for reviews yesterday and read that Total Film one. Completely pointless to review a boxset like this solely based on the films and without having seen the extras and no assessment of the AV quality.

Music magazines do it too - Uncut had a full page review of Gene Clark's long OOP Two Sides To Every Story a year ago and didn't mention any of the rumoured bonus tracks. I say rumoured because they jumped the gun and it still hasn't come out.

I haven't read Empire for a very long time.

I noticed the DVD versions of the single relases are on HMV at £10 each. As they are using the same Lowry transfers, surely the UE DVD's will look exactly the same. So guess what, there is a new boxset which is £88 at Amazon. The old UE 22 film DVD boxset went down as low as £40.

HMV shipping email for us as well today.

Price was shown as £74.40 so they obviously didn't read/chose to ignore my plea last night trying to get them to honour their pre-order promise (which I didn't even know about until simong mentioned it) to see if I can get the extra £2.40 refunded. Will now probably spend all of that and more ringing up the customer service line...

For £2.40 it's not worth the hassle. I'll be happy if it gets here before Monday and doesn't have any damage or disc problems.
