Seems weird it's a 15. Is there much swearing? While the subject matter might be a little on the cerebral side I don't really remember much that was dodgy enough to get a higher rating than PG.

Gotta say I'm liking the DVD cover!

The rating is based purely on language. Didn't even notice how much there was until the Americans slapped a Restricted certificate on it. You're only allowed to use the F word once in a film if you want a PG-13. Never felt gratuitous in any way, which is why most people are surprised by the rating.

Never did go to the cinema to see this, but I've got the Blu Ray pre-ordered. Really looking forward to it.

Nice cover, would be good if they could erase the quotes, or I can just get out a black marker and rub them out haha

Moon just won Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best Production Design at Spain's Sitges Festival.

This adds to winning Best Film at the Athens International Film Festival, Edinburgh and Espoo, as well as picking up an award at Dinard last week.

I am so looking forward to the BAFTAs

Excellent, it is nice to see it getting some decent recognition.

Yes, it's difficult to decide what would hurt a movie more.... Getting five stars from The Sun or a positive review from RomerojpgX ?

Nice cover - looking forward to getting the bluray.

Why would the distributors think that anyone gives too hoots what News of the World or
The Sun rates a film, or that it affects what people buy. Do these newspapers pay for the privilage of being displayed on the front cover? Do people really go "look, the Sun rated this five stars - must be a great film lets buy it"?

It's like books. I browse around Waterstones and see a book labelled "recommended by Richard & Judy" I walk away from it as quickly as possible - kind of counter-productive surely. Or is it just me?

Well, yes! Not everyone reads forums like this and many will not even be aware of the film's existence until they're looking at the cover in a shop!

Well, that's just snobbish in the extreme! The Richard & Judy book club was an excellent way for some quite "small" but really great books to gain excellent exposure and increase sales. I actually miss it as it was always done very well and made books you wouldn't give a second glance to become of interest.

For anyone who'd still like to catch Moon on the big screen, the film's director Duncan Jones is hosting a screening of Moon with Outland, starring Sean Connery, at the Prince of Wales Cinema in Leicester Square on the 16th of October. Details here: http://www.princecharlescinema.com/i...onth=10&day=16

Duncan will be talking about his influences and answering questions. Should be good.

Best

Mr Majestik, we're looking for a project to work on together in the future, but Duncan and his producer have been working on Mute since before Moon (it was too big for a first feature) and the train was already leaving the station before we came along

Fortunately we have our own bigger budget science fiction film in development, based on a graphic novel (google Xingu and American Reaper for more info) which we're pretty excited about. Duncan's got a head start on us, but I might still put a cheeky wager on which of us hits cinemas first

A bit of a cheeky one this, but Sony have told us they aren't prepared to spend the money in the US on an Oscar campaign for Sam Rockwell. Duncan was hurt by this, so has started a DIY campaign, including a link to a petition you can sign to push for him to get a nomination.

If you agree with me that Sam was outstanding in this film and deserves a nomination, please pop along to http://blog.manmademovies.co.uk/ and do what you can to support the cause

There's also a fun re-working of the film poster there which if I was more tech-literate I'd try to post on here.

******* *****! It's one of the most deserving performances of a nom in recent years!

Alex, that blogsite crashes my browser! Will sign when I can though!

What about the BAFTAs, surely Sam Rockwell, the film and Duncan Jones will be up for awards? Duncan is a dead cert for THE CARL FOREMAN AWARD I'd have thought?
