Like everyones said John Noble was brilliant and so was the make up to de-age him. Loved the 80's credits and the way they used the different fonts to distinguish the different time zones.

I've longed held the theory that Walter was responsible for the war by stealing Peternate and was glad to see more evidence to support it. Plus all the doomsaying by Blonde Dr and young Nina that was wrong at least as far as our world is concerned but I bet its the cause of all the problems on ALt!Earth where Bell now resides.

Nina told Dunham in the pilot that she lost her arm to cancer.

Although many elements were brilliant I actually felt the plot drag a little, it was too obvious; Walter eventually stealing Peternate, Nina losing her arm when trying to stop Walter, the ice melting and the Observer coming to the rescue.

Is Dr Blond the woman who gets killed in lab accident?* And if so was did Walter actually kill her to cover up his crime?

*eta She was called Carla as was the women killed in the accident.

Mirroring other comments here, this week's episode was quite sublime. loved the whole "window on another world" concept, simple but well executed. Probably the finest individual episode of US network tv this season so far.

The show's really found its feet now - great couple of episodes and good to see we're back to the main story arc.

Maybe they're expecting it to be wrapped up in 2 or 3 series, so the producers are putting their foot on the gas???

There has been conjecture that the big mid-season gap was done maybe because it was a goner, or could lead to it being one as few would pick it up again. However, its great old school X-filesy type stuff with a great mythology and really should pick up viewers....

No announcement yet about it being cancelled.

Thank God for that. It's really my first go to thing of the week.

It's nice, in some ways, that "other people" aren't watching it and talking about it. So I can keep it to myself.

No - I don't think we do. ANd this intrigues me. Having seen her in both worlds, and knowingh what the loss of Peter did to our Elizabeth, and knowing the other will have been experiencing that loss BUT FOR THE LAST 20 ODD YEARS, well, what has happened to her, or what is she doing given her Walter will likely have an idea of whta happened?

Just caught up with the Peter episode and will echo the comments of everyone here as I thought it was brilliant. However wasn't there just one small problem in that Peternate was playing with the coin when previously in the series one finale, he mentioned that he never remembered anything about it when Walter was searching for it in their beach-house?

True - but then he also didn't remember anything about going through the weirdo special effect in the middle of the lake either - so I think he had some memory loss as a result of the dip in the lake. Didn't he also say that he had very little memory of being ill too?

Also - I think him giving the coin to his mother in the alternate universe was also telling and very deliberate. We're all expecting "Walternate" to have started the war, but there's a very good chance that Peter's real mother could be behind it...

The war is more likely down to people who realised the world was dying and it was our Walter, or his gateway, that caused it. I suspect Peter's mother will have a part to play but as for starting the war?

I think its obvious the whole war with the other side will be AltWalt trying to get Peter back
