The monster reminded me of flukeman from the X-Files episode The Host.

Decent enough episode.

GEEK FACT: The actor who played flukeman in that episode is a consulting producer on Fringe. Spooky...

Agreed with the X files comments - but what happened to the other FBI agent? Has she been written out already?

She found the bible in the suspect's home, reinforcing the character's motivation to link religion to the incidents that the Fringe dept. discover.

He was walking at the bottom of the screen (wearing a hat) when the camera zoomed out from the crash in the first episode. I didn't see him in the second but apparently he's (barely) visible somewhere.

Finally got the time to watch some TV, annoyed at Charlie's treatment and wtf with the religious nutjob agent?

Kudos for Dunham still being injured in the second ep from the 'crash' in 2x01

another very strong ep, pushing the arc along nicely

After the excellent premičre I feel these last two episodes have only been okay. As has been mentioned, both are very X-files and it feels like we're back in the first half of season 1 i.e. interesting and fun but very episodic and not engaging enough.

I quite liked it. At first I thought, as i guess you're suposed to, that this is an isolated incident from the overall story arc but it fits in quite nicely.

Dunham's rehabilitation is a bit of drag though.

At least she's not completely cured by the episode after her accident.

2x04

A bit dull, exposition heavy with a seemingly pointless plot about the vision!woman.

Bye bye Charlie you will be missed.

I enjoyed it despite the Theresa Russell vision-lady story going nowhere. Good to see Walter get some female action, the sly ol' dog.

Is necessary to have seen the first season before watching the second or wouldn't I be able to follow what was happening?

Sky had a "Catch up with Fringe" program on recently with cast interviews and info on the oncoming season 2. Didn't realise the actor who plays Walter was Australian. There was a segment with the actress who plays Astrid about all the wrong names Walter calls her and one time he called her "Afro". She said you could hear a pin drop on set, as everyone looked at her for her reaction, then she just burst into laughter. Don't think that clip'll make it into the show though.

You'd quickly pick up on the main plot.In fact one criticism of this season is that they seem to have dropped some S1 arcs completely, which would benefit a new viewers.

I was just thinking, if the shapeshifters contain large amounts of mercury then you could detect them by weighing people. If someone puts on a lot of weight and don't look like a blimp you just shoot them.
