Angels and Demons is the first book in a LONG time that I've actually given up on half way through.
I realised that I didn't give the slightest fig what happened to any of the characters and couldn't see the point of going on.

Also, CJ, how on earth do you read a book so fast? I literally couldn't take the information in that quickly.

I'm guessing it will involve (spoilers for all 4 books so far below):

I'll be surprised if he doesn't shoehorn that in somewhere since it's about as imaginative a twist as he can come up with.

Having said that, I did enjoy reading 3 of the books (Deception Point was dull as hell) for the throwaway trash that they were.

i'm a fast reader, managed harry potter 5-7 (all around 600-700 pages) over 8 hours on the day they came out. Not like its information you have to retain

managed to start and finish a book on the train back from parents this morning, its an expensive skill to have.

this is really the male equivalent of the jackie collins bonkbuster that a million women take on holiday and enjoy.

Yeah he's not a great descriptive writer - a pulp novelist at best. But he does hook you with a clever mix of ideas and populist conspiracy theories and, if there is one thing he IS good at, it's adding this to a very pacy narrative. Some of my favourite authors are so goddamn indulgent in the time they take to progress the story, but Brown just gets on with it.

I never did understand how Ron Howard managed to take the Da Vinci code, which was written like a screenplay in the first place, and turn it into such a turgid mess.

What a rubbish title for a book.
Prompts the question "Where did you last see the symbol?"

Will be buying it on launch. My reading preferences seem to be fairly low brow. If it keeps me turning the page it's done the job for me.

Are any of the supermarkets doing a loss leader on this? I'd pick it up for about a fiver otherwise I'll just wait for the paperback.

yeah, i am hoping one of the supermarkets does it at a cheap price, ala Harry Potter. Should be adverts in the sat/sun papers if so in their book review sections.

Probably should reserve one at Smiths anyway. annoying its a work day really.

It's been sent by Home Delivery Network. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing with the state of the Royal Mail

I think I saw on for Tesco why it is £8 if you spend £30 or something like that.
