Bourne 4 with Greengrass and Damon...

http://www.movieweb.com/news/15/26815.php

Don't know how reliable that site is but got sent this in an email. Personally I thought Ultimatum tied things up nicely.

What was the name of the 4th book? Legacy?

I think it is, and I'd quite like to see a 4th film. But if I remember rightly - and I understand that I might be wrong here - Robert Ludlum died shortly after writing the 3rd book, so someone else wrote the 4th. As a result, I'm not sure how faithful it is to the previous three.

Bond carried on without Ian Fleming books, so Bourne can carry on.

After the first 5 mins of the first film, the films bear pretty much bugger all resembalance to the books. So it's really not an issue.

Here is the original story on Variety, with choice quote:

Quote:
More recently, Shmuger and Linde landed Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon for a fourth "Bourne" movie, even though the director and star seemed ready to wrap it up after three pics.

Suppose it's a good bargaining tool so Greengrass can make his more heavyweight films. Like Clooney does with the Ocean flics.

Not surprising that they're milking it for all they can - though I don't mind - as long as there's no more of Greengrass's ****** shakeycam.

The next one will be filmed by a single camcorder, which will be strapped to Damon's head.

"It's the only way to get the realism we need" said Greengrass*

*not really

Still think they should have let him die in the second one.

Didn't Greengrass say he'd only make another one when Spurs' next won something, at the time when they looked like they might not win another game this season?

I thought Greengrass said he would only do a 4th if Spurs came 4th and thus qualify for the Champions league?

That was on Simon Mayo's Radio 5 show with the good Dr Kermode if memory serves.

That's where I thought I heard it. It was a sly dig at the Spurs supporting Mayo.

Just listened to Simon Mayo's Radio 5 interview with Damon/Greengrass.He said he'll do another one if Spurs finish in top 4 of the premiership.

4th Book was written by Eric van Lustabader but, as other have said, the films bear no resemblance to the books whatsoever after the first few minutes of "Identity".

The books are an interesting read nevertheless.
