Weren't the Cheeky Girls on Pop Idol?

Bit of a strange one today. Louie said no to a girl who was good and then Sharon did the same to someone else, most unlike Mrs O.

Unrelated news, I saw XF2's Chico in my local supermarket today! Weird

werent Cheeky Girls from Postars the rivals ?

I thought some of the votes were alittle strange this time round. Assumed its geared up to leave the "cliffhanger" vote to Simon..."I'm going to agree with...[long pause]..."

Yup, X in X-factor stands for "Emotional Blackmail".

And the geordie woman who's life has completely stopped since she had two kids and dedicates her life to them

I think next week's show is also the initial auditions like this week, so there is still time to find someone who lost a leg while saving kittens from a fragile roof or something.

Perhaps they should just pick finalists with no personal or family problems what so ever? Boring people with no story in other words.

Yeah, you're right the people with the cuddly family histories always win, like the lovable rapist dad of last year's winner.

At the end of the day its a light entertainment programme, so obviously they're going to over-dramatise aspects for the hell of it. Having already established the televised judging is already actually the 3rd round of auditions you kind of realise how fake it all is (one of the girls even said last night "I'm so pleased to get this far" BEFORE she'd actually been in to see them!).

The real stars of the show are the producers, the way they manage to edit it together with all the effects does make fantastic TV

it was louis and they showed it at the end of the first show - him throwing water over a contestant and then the contestant having a drink of water from a wine glass before emptying it in louis' direction.

louis is the star of the show this year - i particularly like the way he reacts sometimes to simon's comments. the "text" thing was also quite funny this week.

The one thing that's started to grate on me is when you get someone with a hard-luck story ( I'm such the empathiser!!), the sing, you'll get one judge say yes, one say no, then there's the vote that decides it all - cue music by Coldplay or something or other playing over in the background.

Person goes through, person goes daft/starts blubbing - cue person running out to family and friends in the corridor, but this MUST be done in slow-motion!! Watch it, it's like this EVERY week, and I still watch it!!

Had to also laugh at the girl from Newcastle who's life lost all meaning by having kids at an early age, and she's doing this 'for her kids' - yeah, because now you're off to the ext round, you'll hardly see them, and if you DID win, you'll see even less, well done - clown!

Still quality though

--edit- just remembered the quote of the show - 'you look almost.....demonic'

Didn't think it had quite so many nutters on this week - unless it's just me getting used to them. The girlies singing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" were quite funny.

The one with the tight white top who did "hip-hop" dancing? It was a girl.

I can't remember if it was in the main show or the xtra factor, but when Atomic Mutton introduced themselves and then told Sharon she could join them, her face was a picture

Starting to get really annoyed now with how they are exaggerating the judges' responses, tumbleweed noises etc. No need. Still, Cowell does come out with some corkers - singer finishes, slight pause, then "Worst group we've ever had."

Also, that whole, "But it's not all bad and towards the end of the day, loads of good groups suddenly appear !" Cue two second clips of several acts you actually want to hear more of - eg three girls who did a brilliant 'Harder to Breathe' in week two - will we see them again ?!

I like Louis' reactions to some of the bad performers. The way he giggles and has a cheeky grin on his face really cracks me up for some reason.
