yep, the Pine Barrens is superb, and almost any episode is great so long as it doesn't feature a 'dream sequence' this has been overdone on the Sopranos.

Pine Barrens too, although it still annoys me that we never found out what happened to the Russian guy. Surely he would seek revenge?

PS I know David Chase has explained that he wanted it left ambiguous... but it still bugs me.

Paulies interior decorator line is probably the funniest line ever in this show.

'College' in S1 is class, but for me the best single episode is "Whoever Did This" in S4 - the one where Tony whacks Ralph.

I sat with my mouth wide open for the whole episode - superb.

ahh the memories. Must get out my DVDs and watch all the seasons again. Refrained from watching the new series the naughty way as I want to wait and watch it on Channel 4

Pine Barrens get the vote from me also, although that might change as I go through all the episodes again before S6 starts on Ch 4/E4.

One of the best ever bits for me was in S2 when

Had me in stitches.

The opener to S2 was great too with the Frank Sinatra song

Also love the bits where Paulie repeats a joke just so Tony can hear it. He did it as far back as S1 Ep 1

How come no one's mentioned Sil's Pacino impressions

I dunno, I'm quite partial to Chris' "The highway was jammed with broken heroes on a last-chance power drive." one. Makes me laugh like an idiot for some reason.

Rewatching season 1 at the moment and it is television gold - gonna miss it when it's gone, that is for sure.

I expected to see those words a lot in this thread

Ironic that the best Sopranos episode is one that Tony barely figures in

Just a classic

Another fave of mine is 'Boca' from season 1

It kinda scares me how relevent it is today, as I am sure Roman Abromavich coerces Mourinho into performing better by buying him a RPTV and kidnapping his dog

I also love all the jibes between Tony and Jr about him giving head

I'd have to say Pine Barrens too, but that's probably because it's one of the most distinctive episodes, I'm sure there are numerous others I'd put up there too.

For me, one of my favourite episodes would have to be the one from series two (I think) were they visit Italy on a 'business trip'

Im surprsied no one has mentioned Whoever Did This from S4.
The rest of the ep with just T and Chrissy was fantastic as well.

just finished rewatching S1 myself a few weeks back. Absolute quality. Boca with all the exchanges between Junior and Tony

Its a real pity Junior didnt have much dialogue from Season 2 onwards. He stole the show in Season 1

ON a slightly related note, Sky Movies showed some Christmas movie with James Gandolfini as Santy Claus . Pity I dont have Sky Movies otherwise it would have been worth a watch just to see Tony Soprano in a Santa costume

I'm sure I must have mentioned that ep somewhere in this thread?

Oh yes, see post #25 above
