Randy Quaid sues Brokeback Mountain producers!

BBC News reporting that he feels he was duped into making a "low budget film".

Oh dear... Got to love the quote at the end though!

Quote:
The actor's other films include Kingpin, Independence Day and Not Another Teen Movie.

Hadn't spotted that but I did note that the alt tag said 'Randy Quaid in not another teen movie'.

I love the BBC online stuff, always seems tongue in cheek.

I doubt he'll win this as it'll set a nasty precident.
He (and his agent no doubt) were happy enough to sign onto the film at whatever they paid him and the budget ($14m) IS relatively small for a Hollywood film. Even if it's true about the big studios using their 'independent' subsidiaries to make 'smaller' niche/art pictures like this, you can't just turn around and start demanding more money just because the film is a financial success!

Always better to "give" than "receive", Randy.

As Jeff Stryker would probably say.

He wants $10million for doing a minor part in a film budgetted at $14million and despite having a worthy director and stars, wasn't expected to do particularly well at the box office.

"Randy Quaid is an instantly recognisable household name and much-admired actor on the world's stage" - yeah - loved him in Big Easy, Innerspace and DOA, oh hang on.....
make that Christmas Vacation 2, Pluto Nash, and The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle.

It's not the money, it's the principal obviously.

Hope he wins.

What a dope - if he had thought about it at all, he should have taken a cut from the back end instead of a fee.

His only great film is 'The last detail' and thta's mainly thanks to Nicholson.

I have a feeling he will not be in great demand after this case.
