May go to Manchester but i'll be seeing them for the 10th time at the Leeds Festival. It may be a bit excessive!

I'm really hoping they add a 2nd show at the Apollo the day before as we are staying in a hotel in Manchester overnight before flying off in the morning. It would set the honeymoon up nicely especially as they cancelled the Vegas show I had tickets for last year

That would be good. Didn't know they'd cancelled Vegas. I've never seen a good band in Vegas and i'd love to. House of Blues and The Joint always seem to have good stuff on it just never coincides with when i'm there.

I was really peeved at the cancellation but did manage to cath Franz Ferdinand in San Francisco on the same tri.p I've been to a couple of garage type festivals which were fun. The only other show I've managed to catch was Billy Idol at the Mandalay Bay beach which was good.

Had a few near misses White Stripes played the day before we arrived two years ago and I've missed Moby by one day twice

It's great seeing bands when away on foreign soil.

Went to see The White Stripes at The Fillmore in San Fran a few years ago. On the way out of the venue bumped into an old friend who did some work with Elbow. When i asked why he was there it turned out Elbow were supporting Doves the next night in SF so he got us on the guest list - bonus!

The day before White Stripes also caught Badly Drawn Boy at a performance/signing at Tower Records. That was a mad few days.

Just bought tickets to see Robert Plant in Vancouver in September. Should be great as he was fantastic at the Sheffield Octagon the other year.

Back on topic - Pixies in Manchester sounds like a 'must do' for me. For various annoying reasons have missed them during the comeback jaunt as every date has clashed with something. That means the last time i saw them was in the dim and distant past at Sheffield City Hall!!

I probably won't be able to make either of the gigs, as they are weekday work nights for me

Although looking at the tour dates, I quite fancy seeing them Rock en Seine in Paris the week before, as I am off that week. 65 euros for a two day festival sounds pretty good to me

Thanks for the info. Saw them last year and they were amazing, so I think I'll try and get tickets when they go on sale.

Oh bugger - I'm going to be on holiday in Northumberland on the 30th! Suppose I could drive back for the night... leave the wife and kids up there... hmmmmmmmm!
