Nice pricepoint.

Are Nintendo still going to bring out a GBA 2?

Yep, the DS is nothing to do with the GBA 2.

But surely when they do bring that out, it's going to be in direct competition with the DS.

It wouldn't make any sense unless the GBA 2 is not due for another couple of years or so. This wouldn't be the case going by Nintendo's timescale record of bringing out new products.

From what I've read the GBA2 will be released dependent upon DS sales (ie if the DS started to die on its arse then it'll be rushed onto the market).

£99? Great price.

There better be some damn good US games coming out for me to import by then (besides Wario Ware), otherwise I might be a little narked off..

aye.. Animal Crossing is the only reason I'm thinking of getting this at the moment. I soooo miss it on the GC. I shouldn't have sold it.. but after 6 real hardcore months of playing it I had to.

Mind you.. that release is only 3 days after my birthday.. hmm.. do I want photography toys or Nintendo toys..?

People might want to consider that all the prices they are looking at have been their well before todays announcement from Nintendo. As usual games stores/sites ect have simply been putting the price at the highest they think possible until the real price is announce.

So, if the PSP is launched at £179.99 (who knows) then it represents quite a big increase in price. Obviously targeted at different market segments BUT anyone who says they don't directly affect each other is wrong.

Here's hoping for a sub £150 PSP launch!

I think the PSP price at £179 is very realistic. When you consider the difference between the two consoles, that's not such a big difference.

I would expect Sony to launch at a very challenging price point (even in good old Britain) in order to steal a chunk of handheld market from Nintendo. I reckon PSP is set for £149.99.

DS....didn't hook me at the moment, probably due to the lack of decent games. Mario, is pure class though...

PSP strangely had held my attention....this is my first sony gaming product

£80...would have been a keener price...

The main thing to consider though is that Sony have most likely done enough with the PS1 and PS2 to have already sold a does of PSPs to a lot of customers.

Having said that, the number of games at launch on the DS is a reasonable list considering previous machines handful. Still unsure if the stylus is really going to be rvolutionary or novelty.

Looking forward tot he handheld war strangely enough. *grins*
