Bionic Woman S1 and Six Million Dollar man S1

Can those tell me who own the UK Box sets of these releases, can you tell me what its like?

From what I heard Bionic WOman S1 is good, but the Six Million Dollar man box set is not good quality?

Can someone confirm

Print wise I would say Bionic Woman S1 does look better than Six Million Dollar Man S1. I don’t know if this is due to Bionic Woman being a couple of years younger or the Six Million Dollar Man prints have had more use.

Having said that Six Million Dollar Man does not look bad at all for a 30+ year’s old unrestored TV series. Dirt and speckle is evident at times but the picture is clear and looks better than video recordings I have.

This is probably the wrong place to ask, but I'd LOVE to see a picture of the Death Probe thing that appeared in series 4. I've googled, but no picture seems to exist....

Have not heard of a Season 2 release yet. Hopefully if there is - can't see why there shouldn't be - it will be a shorter time period than the one between Seasons 1 and 2 of Kojak (11 months), otherwise it will be August 2006 at the earliest.

The early episodes are the editted versions, aren't they, rather than the full 90 minute ones? ie they are split into two normal length episodes with credits etc tacked on?

Arguable that they are still "as transmitted" I suppose.

Can't see any reason why they wouldn't go for the other seasons, though it has been known for DVD releases to not continue.

Yes, the three pilots are split into two normal length episodes with credits etc tacked on.

It has been so long since I watched the pilots I cannot remember how they were originally shown.

I seem to recall that in the original pilots, the bionics were also shown in a rather more realistic fashion, rather than in slow motion with "na-na-na-na-na" sound effects, as well.

Interesting to note that, as in the novels, originally the "eye" was just a photographic camera, rather than a functional eye.

The Death Probe is available for viewing on YouTube. Just search for 'death probe'.

It's actually pretty good, all things considered. Nice menacing sound effect. And I'd forgotten all about it comprehensively trashing Austin's right arm!

Are the 'Bionic Woman' "pilot" episodes only available as part of Six Million Dollar Man season 2?
