It's amazing how much stuff came from the Ghosts release. Trent managed to win an Oscar for best original soundtrack when some of the music came from Ghosts!

Ghosts is an odd one. I couldn't get into it at all until I treated it as 4 separate albums, at which point it clicked. Still, it's not an easy listen and is better regarded as a mood experiment and view into Trent's creative process.

At any rate, one of things which has always appealed about NIN for me is that fact that most of the songs would work as instrumentals. There is just so much hidden away in there.

Loved the Black Mirror "covers".

And also very curious what Trent & Atticus come up with for the HBO Watchmen soundtrack....

I kept waiting to see what other songs they'd rework (Closer for example) but I guess they had limited time in there. It was really well done though.

I'm still waiting for their expanded Bird Box vinyl set to be released....

I'm stuck trying to remember a NIN song featuring the lyric "feels like I've been here before"...I know that Branches/Bones and Over and Out both use the line...but I am sure there is an older song that uses it also?

Any thoughts before i vanish into google hell?

cheers

I can't think of another song that contains those exact lyrics off the top of my head, but there are some that are close:

All Time Low: "we've done this all before"
I Would For You: "all this has happened all before"
Copy of A: "everything I say has come before"

Trent and Atticus are doing the score for the upcoming Pixar film 'Soul'.
THAT is unexpected and fascinating!

Just watched the first episode of Watchmen & the soundtrack is Awesome! Classic NiN instrumental sounds, ranging from haunting piano, John Carpenter style synth & upbeat, drum machine heaven....

Assuming this is Trent & Atticus, but it's an unofficial upload.

Official upload of a couple of tracks. Loving the sound, less ambient/more immediate than what they've been doing previously!
It's actually taking me right back to playing old Command & Conquer games.

The physical release is tomorrow, I think digital/streaming is a little later.

That's what I thought, but I'd (wrongly) assumed the vinyl would have shipped by now.

I've found a gallery of images from the first volume online. It's credited to a fictional band called Sons of Pale Horse, and the album is called The Book of Rorschach. There's some in-universe history written in the liner notes (and nicely references the Twin Peaks band THE Nine Inch Nails!).

Noticed that earlier which is nice as the vinyl looks slightly delayed, albeit only by a few days.

This is fast becoming one of my favourite scores they have done. Its got some very varied styles and I think splitting it up in to three releases has helped as its very accessible in terms of length.
