I only use it as a portable - other than a few Mario sessions where I needed a bit of a bigger screen to do something tricky.

95% of the time I use portable. I stay away 2-3 nights/week for work and always take the Switch with me. Even at home I still tend to use Portable most of the time.

Everyone playing Donkey Kong at the moment then? It's a lot of fun! I never played it first time around as I didn't have the Wii U

I am as pro Nintendo as they come but I always seem to have this problem with non Mario platformers that they never seem right. It's hard to describe. I played the first few levels and there didn't seem much to it.

Remake of Tropical Freeze. I had no idea of its existence until the day it came out but it's reviewed really will and topped all the sales charts with Amazon being sold out even before release.

Is it only me that finds it difficult to pay £40 for a game that I could buy and pick up the last gen console for maybe £20 more??

I think the point is that no-one bought the last console so they are trying to recoup the cost of games made for it.

Based on the stellar reviews and it topping the charts - I guess it's working for them!

But yeah, it's probably not worth it if you did own it on a Wii U.

Yeah, i get it. And I'll probably buy it...

I didn't own the last gen, but looking at sold on ebay seems minimum Wii U go for ~£50... for a console and £15 for Tropical Freeze

1080 visuals (it looks stunning!) and a difficulty selection mode (the original was hard by all accounts) are pretty much the only new features I think.

heard it call the "the switch tax" its not just last gen Nintendo games, lot of this ports like doom or skyrim etc have higher than average prices

Also the machine is popular so they gouge the owners

Oh yeah, I'm not buying anything on it I can get on PC. Much cheaper there. I'm only buying the Nintendo stuff.

By the way, if anyone is looking for a Switch, I have one sitting doing nothing at home. Has Mario Kart 8 and Mario Odyssey.

Just in case anyone is interested.
