The Muppet Christmas Carol (Special Edition)

I was looking at buying this for my wife this christmas as she loves the film.

But she mentioned a deleted scene in the middle which I dont remember seeing in this movie when I was young.

Does anyone know of a version of this movie that contains the cut scene/song? There is lots of versions of this dvd about, and none mention a deleted scene.

From DVD Compare:

The new R1 Anniversary Edition US release is uncut, however the transfer is 4:3, it does include a Widescreen version however that version is missing an additional scene.

The Old R1 US release is uncut, however only 4:3 plus includes a documentary that has been omitted from the new Anniversary Edition. Fans might want to pick up both old and new R1 releases, otherwise the choice is yours as to what is more important.

R1 America - (Buena Vista Home Entertainment) - No cuts, runs 89 mins (NTSC).
R1 AE America - (Buena Vista Home Entertainment) - No cuts: Extended version with an additional scene runs 89 mins (NTSC) only on full screen version.

Its not present - http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=66620

Did anyone watch it on Ch5 last night? Did it include Love Is Gone?

I youtubed the song and didn't recognise it.

Also is the transfer on the new R2 different to the R1 Anni. edition?

Should "Love Is Gone" be part of the film? I believe it was originally taken out for the theatrical run and so shouldn't really be included.

It should definately be included on any DVD as a deleted song but shouldn't the main feature on the DVD represent the director's original wishes?
