Question Leah Remini Scientology and the Aftermath

Welcome

Has anyone been watching this? I saw Going Clear and thought that was great. I thought Louis Theroux was okay , the lack of access to the Church itself may of been the issue. But Leah's show I think has been excellent. So many experiences from ex members. As well as episodes on how the Religion works , its leader, celebs etc. Anyone seen it , any thoughts?

Thinking of you

Mas

I had no idea this had a UK broadcast, thanks for the heads up. Will get them onto my Sky+ box.

I find the subject interesting but always find that documentaries often lack. Louis T was a good example, basically they seem to spend the whole thing going on about how they were followed around.

I could probably film a few black SUVs each day and claim I was being followed, not saying they weren't but we always seem to lack any real new information, I still know Tom Cruise is a member.

Will give this a look though, sounds good

Louis Theroux was a bit disappointing I thought given the potential material. No real interaction with the Scientologists beyond seemingly trespassing on their land and the weird mirror filming stuff.

Agreed I think he did it the documentary 10 years too late. He should of done it years ago when he would of been given some access like John Sweeney was.

Really interesting couple of episodes this weekend - the ascension to power of Miscavige sounds like a movie villain plot if one accepts the accounts at face value, but is still entirely in keeping with the image that has been painted of him from various sources.

Also hearing the details of the celebrity obsession within the cult is interesting, especially Leah’s accounts of the pressure put on her to recruit Kevin James. Imagine the shock waves it would send through the organisation is Cruise ever wakes-up to everything going on around him

Don't see the point of this show, and slagging off TC just at the start of season 3 smells fishy when she should have released all the dirt she had at the start of this.

I have no love for the COS but making an endless series about it ain't gonna change anything which makes you wonder why she bothers
