Flight of the Conchords - HBO

Oh my god!

New Zealand's fourth most popular folk-parody duo have only got a show on HBO starting in a few weeks.

It sounds a little like their radio2 show set in New York.
I can guarantee it will be hilarious.

Can't believe this has totally slipped past my radar.

Anyone else a fan of these guys?

God yes - saw their HBO one night stand and their Texan Odyssey recently - really looking forward to a full series. About time they got recognised properly.

Never heard of them before, but just checked out the first episode on HBO's site here. Will have to check out the radio show.

That first episode was great - a couple of FOTC classics and a new song or two as well. Good to see Arj Barker and that woman from Peep Show too.

If you ever get the chance go see them live they are amazing. I have seen the quite a few times and it's always brilliant.

I just watched the first episode and I found it very unfunny. There songs work so much better live when they fill in the details rather than tacking a sitcom round them.

Also they are really bad actors.

Of course they're bad actors. That's half the point. They're not supposed to be acting. Seen them live quite a few times and that's just supposed to be their "personas".

I watched it again last night and forgot how funny "I'm Not Crying" was....

Glad this thread got a bump - I was meaning to watch this first episode and totally forgot. Better watch it quick though, looks like it might be going away soon.

Really enjoyed this! HBO are probably banking on this being their next Tenacious D I guess...

Watched this today and was very impressed. I really think they've got something here - like a New Zealand Mighty Boosh without the weirdness that ruins some of the Boosh stuff for me. Can't wait to see more of the series.

For new fans: give them a search on YouTube for plenty more fantastic material.

Episode 3 for me by far the best so far, with many laugh out loud moments - most concerning a monkey

Great to hear a couple of their classic songs.

Eagerly anticipating "Business Time" in a future episode

Me too, but i'm trying to figure out how they'll crowbar that one into a plot. Mind you, they got away with putting Rhymenoceros vs Hiphopopotamus in this one so anything's possible.

Loving this series - Murray ("ginger balls") is a star...
