Not a great episode this week but I tend to hate whining kids.

The Directive 38 “no bare feet in the ....” bit was very Red Dwarf Spacecorp Directive but I still laughed

Yeah was pretty obvious what was happening but it was still very entertaining and it was incredibly well shot.

I was surprised to see Neil Dickson (Biggles 1986) and Lenny von Dohlen (Miles in Electric Dreams and Harold in Twin Peaks) making appearences in this show, MacFarlane seems to be using old 80's stars, maybe as a nod to his old faves.

Been watching this from Fox FX. I'm p to ep 3. Liking it more and more. To be honest, the comedy was a bit hard going in the first episode, but ep 3 had a good balance and a great Star Trek-like story. How many episodes are planned this series?

The Orville - Seth MacFarlane's Star Trek homage/comedy

There were to be 13 but the last one has been held back to next season

As noted 12. Ep 1 is interesting as it's not really indicative of the show at all. It really finds its feet around 4-5. It's a gem. An absolute gem.

I enjoyed the pilot far more than any show in the last couple of years, I went to watch it as I thought second episode was up, was really sad it wasn't available until 11pm and I've had to wait a week

A pilot is never a good judge, I'm guessing test audiences liked the Trekkyness, maybe less on the comedy but there were definitely some funny bits

The comedy was too over done in the pilot but they understood that and fixed it from ep 2 onwards and the storyline improved dramatically

It seems that Seth is now dating Alarra, that’s can only end badly. She’s half his age and when the inevitable break up happens they still have to work together

Up to Episode 3, really enjoying it so far. A good mixture of the comedy and proper episodes. Not sure about the ending to Episode 3, I'm presuming it was an attempt at being a bit anti-Star Trek, they make the eloquent points and lose anyway
