And now I've got to ring them up coz they've charged an additional £40 for installation, which was waived on the confirmation but has now appeared on the invoice.

..And a £4 per month increase again for me.

I let the last one slide, but I'm already unhappy with what I'm paying vs what I use.

I've got a £4 loyalty bonus until October 2018. It's worth ringing up retentions and asking them what discounts they can apply; they're normally pretty good

Yeah - I'm well out of any contract, so will take a look at what Sky have to offer and do the whole 'I'm leaving' spiel.

Something to note with Sky is they now pretty much only offer discounts on 18 month contracts rather than previously only 12 months.

Also you must keep all parts of the contract for the full 18 months. Previously you could ditch sport and films mid contract and not be in breach with just entertainment pack remaining. Now you must keep whole lot for full contract period.

You don't need to worry about being in contract or not, just ring up and ask what discounts they can apply.

You only need one premium during the 18 months...

Well, after they failed to turn up to do the install I had it delivered for a self-install (and the basic fee installed so all free). Dead easy to do, and the kit itself seems much better than the previous TiVo. It might be just me, but even SD content looks better. Had to log go online to transfer over my planned recordings, and did lose my existing recordings on the current box, but not really an issue in my case. Over all, pretty impressed. The Mrs is happier with the smaller footprint of the new box too. And the Harmony just worked without any re-configuring, so thumbs up there too.
