You're odd.

You were saying that Zidane's last season at Real Madrid should put Woodward off him, although I pointed out that he won the Champions League in that season.

Then you brought up José...

Given that Daniel Levy is involved, we'd probably end up paying for their new stadium.

If it's Solskjaer (and apparently, the United top brass have even chimped this up by announcing it on their website and then removing it!) surely there must be a long-term role for him, whether that's permanent manager, assissant or DOF of whatever? They can't take him away from a club where he's manager, use him for a few months and then replace him can they?

The Norway season has finished for the year and doesn't start again for a while, so he's at a loose end I guess.

He seems an odd choice tbh. I accept he is an ex-United player and so fourth, but so are a lot of people with a better track record.

That being said, previous success and so fourth doesn't necessarily compute to future success, he might be what is needed.

Problem might be is he's likely to do alright isn't he? Compared to what came before him, so then what do the club do?

I love Solskjaer, but I'm not convinced he is what we need just now after some colossal mistakes.

The Norwegian season starts again we need Norway and, Sky were saying last night, OGS has every intention to return to Molde manager.

Did you cut and paste that sentence from Google translate or something?

We didn’t have the luxury of building a massive stadium whilst we were languishing in league 2. Logistically much more straightforward.

Also, you haven't been gifted one by your local council.

Of course not, but I couldn't resist the chance for a good one-liner.

Good luck to OGS. All he needs to do is get more from the squad that Maureen appears to have been able to. Playing a more attractive style of football would help to and let's face it we are not going to improve massively in defence with the people we have in those areas so we may aswell change style to suit where we do have greater quality. I suspect doing that won't change our results profile much but it may at least mean more exciting games and right now I'd settle for that. Major changes can wait until the summer.

OGS 'til the end of the season, then Pochettino to come in and take us back up with the big boys...seems a done deal to me. It's going to be very interesting to see the next few games and whether Pogba will play any better than he has...if his performances don't improve markedly then it's certainly not down to the manager this time! Will OSG be allowed any transfer funds for January? Good to see Phelan back too.

I think we're all a bit more cheered going into Christmas now

It does seem like a possibility, especially if we do get Paul Mitchell in as Director of Football, as some reports are saying.

If we do get Pochettino, I hate to think what the total severance / compensation for changing the manager will be, £60m?

I don't think we need worry ourselves about that, football deals in silly money now far beyond the normal world...let's just concern ourselves with what we see on the pitch

I'm not worried, it's obscene but it's football, unfortunately.

Woodward needs a director of football so he can concentrate on social media, or whatever it is he's good at.

Why would he want the job?

Seems to be building himself a talented squad at Spurs and is rightly applauded for doing great on a limited budget.

The Man Utd job has already destroyed the reputations of (up until that point) three highly regarded managers.

He's a bit young to have to go and rebuild his career at Real Betis or something.

No offence, but this United job is a massive undertaking that'll probably take years to sort out. Nobody so far has been given that time, why stake your one opportunity to get a "big job" on one you'll almost certainly fail at.

I know contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on these days (amirite?!), Poch signed a five year deal as recently as May 2018.

Indeed, and if (its still a big 'if') United want him, I think they'd have to pay in excess of £40m
