If there was a way to get it £40 cheaper without the controller, I'd be all over this sitting alongside my ATV, but can't justify the cost, especially as I only have a 1080p TV.

Sell the controller for £35. Someone will probably buy it.

This is a kick ass emulator machine, so someone is bound to want another controller.

I haven't got enough time to play new games let alone old ones so emulation doesn't really appeal

I guess when I finally sell the Kuro and get a 4K TV I might revisit, but until then, from a video playback perspective, it doesn't really do anything my ATV doesn't, now Infuse is imminent.

I didn't intend the emulator for you...

I was stating due to it's quality as an emulation machine, it should be easy to sell the controller.

Btw you do know it will stream an nvidia gpu'd pc to your tv...?

I have so many things I will be trying with this:

Kodi, to stream from my nas, and also stream my motorised satellite dish to my lounge.

Emulators

Replace my chromecast.

Stream from my pc when I get an nvidia gpu so I can play SF5 with the Ps4 crowd using my old 360 fight stick.

My PC is connected to a TV anyway so it's a feature lost on me, as cool as it is. It definitely looks like a decent bit of kit, but still there doesn't seem to be a complete option, given Prime Video not looking like being made available on it - I think you can side-load though?

Yeah, I think you sideload Amazon's app store and get it from there. I think this is down to Amazon and Google not being on the best of terms.

I'm using a pretty basic file system for my media, and would like to get the interaction of 'xbmc' back.

Apparently there's a kodi addon for premierleaguepass...you use that right?

I don't use Kodi. I've only really played with Plex. What does it offer over me just plugging my MacBook into the TV and streaming it that way?

Not having too?

I dunno...

I sometimes stream my satellite system to my mac and plug it in occasionally. Bit of a faff, but it works. Usually plug in a charger too. I also find my screen can be a bit funny, about the order I plug my mac in. Probably to do with retina resolution.

Sometimes full screen doesn't work properly. Not sure if it's my amp in the middle that gets confused.

I'd much prefer to have my laptop handy whilst watching the footie.

Ah I didn't know if it offered more control over playback - for example, I find the streams a bit stuttery and was wondering if playing them back from within Kodi smoothed them out in any way? I can't find much info on it on the website add-ons section.

Bought one of these, of those who have it, is there a way to change the DNS settings to the Unblock US ones to watch different Netflix regions?

Last time I checked they don't support it, though other DNS spoofers do.

So you can't change the DNS settings in the Shield TV settings itself? Is it like the Chromecast where they've hard set google dns into the device?

Apparently, I've not tried it, you can use Unotelly.

Instructions here:

Ah, ok, so looking on that Unotelly page it looks like you can, and it should be same with Unblockus, Unlocator, etc. Thanks

Yeah it's weird. Unblock say they don't support the device in their forum but surely if you can change the settings to their DNS it will work regardless?
