For some stupid reason I chose to watch 'Hell on Earth' on Halloween as I'd not seen it for over 20 years. What a piece of **** it is! The 'unrated' version (with the 4:3 inserts from the laserdisc) adds absolutely nothing to the movie.

Really enjoyed the Leviathan doc about the first film though. I'm glad they were re-edited for this release as the longer version sounds painful to sit through. 90 minutes was long (and thorough) enough for me.

Although I have the full length Leviathan doc and very much enjoyed it, there is no way I could sit through it in one go. The first part (about the original film) is nearly 4 hours on its own!

Yeah, the surgeon scene is naff, but it's nice to see it. I really, really wished they'd found the trims for all the MPAA cuts for the first film, but you can't have everything.

It's a great set, I don't see how it could be bettered. I wouldn't bust a gut to pay the stupid scalper prices just for the bonus disc and book, wait for the individual releases.

Makes me angry all the ebay scalpers. Makes me wonder if they have any interest in these films or just buy them because there limited editions and can charge what they like since its OOP.

Almost all my friends who were after a copy seemed to manage to get one except me. Really gutted.

It's an old practice - they buy them to charge what they like. And since people pay it, you can't really blame them.

Yes, I think they're arses too, but you're never going to stop it.

This was at least easier than getting a Dismaland ticket (although I managed that through sheer perseverance). After all, I blame my myself for dilly-dallying over the pre-order from Amazon. When I finally made up my mind, and went with Zavvi for Paypal reasons, they somehow lost my order!

No! As I say, Zavvi messed up and I'm waiting to hear back from them as they said they'd look into it (I still have a paypal receipt, but my order disappeared and I didn't get a confirmation email). I don't hold out much hope.

But my point was it was up on my Amazon wish-list ready to buy for ages. I just didn't click the button. I stupidly assumed it would be safe until release day at least.

It happened with the last 'limited edition' item I ordered from them, and I vowed never, ever to use them again. But I put an order in soon as Amazon sold out, so I was late anyway, in the hope their stock system was up to date.

It's purely my fault and I've resigned myself to the fact I'll probably be waiting for the individual releases. So it goes.

Have you seen what they are going for though?

Apparently it popped back up on Amazon for a couple of hours last night.

I'm going to keep an eye on Amazon etc, but don't hold out much hope. If I spot any I'll buy two - one for me, one for me ol' mucker LordoftheDance.

A few popped on Amazon this morning and promptly went, so there are still cancelled orders being made available.

I'd pop into an HMV if you have one near you, they had actual product out on the shelves. It won't last long, if indeed there's any left now.
